A Valentine Headpiece

Hi Everyone...it's Teresa here today. I have to admit- I love Valentines not only for the candy but also for all the neat things that you can make to give to all those special people in your life.  I think it just makes life more fun to spoil people and give them a reason to smile... so with that in mind today, I am sharing a Valentine headpiece that I made to give to a special daughter, granddaughter or friends little girl and you could even make a cute dress to go with it for her.  Wouldn't that be just the nicest thing to surprise her with.

To make this project you will need a thin wire base to attach the flowers and ribbons to.  I found a piece of wire with clear crystals on it, so I cut a piece and twisted about 3 layers of the wire together and first attached the roses evenly across it.  Then I tied small bits of ribbons, tulle and stamens to fill in all the spaces between the roses.  And to finish it I cut long pieces of the ribbon to hang down the back and this way you can make it bigger if you needed to just in case.  

Here is a list of products that I used to make it:
Cottage Roses, metallic edged satin in red, white swirl organza, red tulle, stamens, white organza ribbon, glue gun and crystal wire in silver. Another neat product is the wild orchid bead craft berry sprays... they would really be cute between the roses too maybe in pink with pink roses?

Decorate your Wedding With Pretty Ribbons!

Hi Everyone!True :D here!

Well...my son and new daughter-in-law's wedding is over. It was beautiful! In part because of all of the pretty Really Reasonable Ribbon I used!Bonnie has so many pretty colors and styles to choose from that it would be impossible to not be able to find what you need for any decor colors!
The ribbons I used in the following projects are:White SatinTeal Satin - currently out of stock...I think I used it all!  ;)Cream SwirlsPlease note that the satin ribbon roses on the flower girl's basket, ring bearer's pillow and the other items are made with white satin ribbon that I colored with Copic markers for the exact color I needed.
I made Kristin a practice/keepsake bouquet since she had a live bouquet for the wedding. I also made Kurt a practice boutonniere. ;)

I wrapped some pretty satin ribbon "french braid" style around a cylindrical vase so she would have a display stand for the bouquet.

It also served as a center piece for the head table at the wedding. I love double duty projects! :)

Most of the flower girl baskets and ring bearer pillows  I saw in the stores were cheesy and expensive so I made my own!

This is my ring bearer pillow. It was super easy to make!

I thought it was a nice touch to make a personalized sentiment tag for the front! :)

Here are the guest book and pen. Again decorated with cream swirls and home-made satin ribbon roses.

The reception tables were decorated with my home-made favor boxes featuring Cream Swirls Ribbon.

Yippee it's the weekend!

And there are birds EVERYWHERE at my place! Spring is finally here, flowers are blooming and the birds are playing. I made this card using the orange swirl and the white silk ribbons from Really Reasonable Ribbon. I also managed to find an awesome use for the Frosted Dream brads (love 'em!), and I used my new Sizzix die from the Tim Holtz recent release. The label punch in the middle is from McGill, the patterned cardstock is from K&Company and the solid orange is from Club Stamp. Enjoy and yippee (no company name on the yippee stamp, sorry), it's Friday! :)Debbie

Happy Birthday with Bling!

I really like the new "bling" that's available in the embellishments category at Really Reasonable Ribbon, and Bonnie gave me some to play with this weekend. I used the Spring Medley Blue embellishments, along with the Swirls Turquoise ribbon to make this card. The birthday stamp is from Inkadinkadoo, the flourishes stamps I used to make the background print on the smaller rectangle are from Prima and the printed background paper is from Basic Grey. Note: I did add some rhinestones and pearls to the centers of the flowers (from my "stash, not sure of the brands!). Enjoy, and if it's your birthday, hope it's a good one. :) Debbie
