Singing the Blues

Hello, Friends!  Kathy here with a beautiful summery blue card filled with roses, posies and butterflies.

The Light Navy Taffeta Ribbon bow cluster on this card steals the show.  I love working with taffeta ribbon!  It has a soft sheen and ties crisp loopy bows.  I've topped this one with some Gold Metallic String and a big ole blue rose.

Everything about this card makes me want to sip a tall glass of sweet tea out on the veranda while I listen to the birds sing.  If I had a veranda, that is!

Here's a peek at the inside.  It's so fun to tuck these little surprises inside a card!

I hope you get to sit out under the big blue sky today and drink in some sunshine.

Thanks for stopping by!

The Best Ship is Friendship

Hello, Friends!  Have you had a chance to play with the scrumptious ribbons in the February Ribbon Club yet?  I am so loving this Blue and Brown Ribbon Mix because it's great for masculine and feminine cards alike.  Today's card features 3 ribbons from the club assortment: Light Navy Taffeta, Tan Delicate Stitched Satin, and Blue and Brown Chevron Stripe Grosgrain.  They work so well with this Voyager Collection from Authentique paper!

I've used one of my favorite quick ribbon tricks to create a textured border on the left hand side of the card.  To do this, simply lay down a line of 1/2" Scor-Tape on your card layer before you adhere it to the base.  Cut the tape and the ribbon about 1" longer than the area you are trying to cover.  Burnish the ribbon onto the Scor-Tape, then wrap the ends around the back side of the card to create a really neat and tidy ribbon border.  I did the same thing with the chevron stripe ribbon, but used 1/4" Scor-Tape instead.  A loopy Gold Metallic String bow adds a touch of elegance to the bow cluster.

Here's a peek at the inside.

Thanks so much for stopping by!
