Wishing You a Very Happy Birthday Card

Today I am sharing a pretty birthday card I created for my daughter-in-law.  I embellished the card with some pretty ribbons and flowers from Really Reasonable Ribbon

I created a 4-1/2″ x 6-1/4" card with loads of layers. My digital sentiment from Bonnie Garby Designs is my main focal point.  I ran a piece of garden rose Delicate Stitched Satin Ribbon across the middle of the card under the sentiment panel and topped it off with a piece of raspberry swirl Plaid Ribbon.  I finished my card off with a pretty bi-color double loop bow and below the sentiment I have added some pretty 2-tone pink with deep pink center Open Roses.

The sentiment on the front of my card is from my Birthday Greetings 3 Digi Stamp Bundle. The interior sentiment is from the Birthday Sentiments 3 for the Inside Digi Stamp Bundle.  The background was created with my Layered Circle in Square on Point Overlay SVG Bundle. All my designs can be found on my Bonnie Garby Designs Etsy shop.

Our sister company 'Bonnie Garby Designs' is offering a large variety of digital sentiment stamps and svg files.  Below are the digital stamp bundles I used on my card today.

My card is topped off with a pretty bi-color double loop bow created on my Bow-it-All V3.0 Tool using garden rose and pearl pink Delicate Stitched Satin Ribbon.  I topped off the center of the bow with a pretty heart shaped pearl embellishment.

Have Faith

Hi there, ribbon loving friends, it's your friend Karen sharing here today.  We all enjoy making cards, right?  While there are so many different styles and techniques out there to try and to enjoy, I personally enjoy adding the warmth and texture of some type of trim.  Whether it be a true Grosgrain Ribbon bow, some Burlap String or Baker's Twine, or even some lovely Seam Binding like I'm using on today's card.....you can always find the perfect style, width, color and design to match all your art at Really Reasonable Ribbon.
I pulled out some much older patterned papers and the stickers, ephemera and goodies that came in this lovely Pretty Party line from Crate Paper.  Lots of pattern paper layers indeed.  Here and there, you'll see tiny bits of the stickers from this line.  I wanted to pull on the colors, so I used a texture stamps (or two) from Creative Worship Stamps.  These encouraging stamped sentiments are from Stamp Simply.
I ran a length of my favorite color of Seam Binding which is the Bayleaf Seam Binding.  It matches these patterned papers so perfectly.  It's truly a beautiful color.  I tied a bow again using the Bayleaf Seam Binding, some bundled Ivory Burlap String, and added some fun accents to include stick pins, an Open Rose, and some sweet little Mulberry Leaves.
I wrapped the Ivory Burlap String all the way around my card.  As I said, I do love the texture and warmth it adds to cards.  The pretty Ivory Open Rose I used on this card comes in many beautiful colors.  Most all of the Mulberry Flowers we carry come in various colors and sizes.  There's such a great selection at Really Reasonable Ribbon.  Give yourself some time to look around at ALL there is to offer.  Oh, and everything is held together with these fabulous Adhesives.
Thanks so much for visiting today.  Be sure to stop by and see all the fabulous inspiration on the Really Reasonable Ribbon Blog and stay up-to-date on special sales and promotions.  We always welcome and appreciate your visits.

Blessings,
Karen

Elevate your Card with Ribbon!

Hi there All our Really Reasonable Ribbon Loving Friends!
Misty @Mommyofkidz here to share a fun card with you!
OK...so...I know that people DO make cards without ribbon,
All I am asking is...HOW!!!??

I may not be much of a card making person, but I do know that a beautiful
bow is the PERFECT final touch for any card!
It just seems to elevate that final look from "Pretty" to "WOW" or even "GORGEOUS!"

Take this card for instance.  Without the ribbon it is pretty...The sunflower papers from
Brutus Monroe are spectacular alone.
But when I added that

5/8 Plaid Black Bold Check Ribbon

to the tag, everything changed!
Then I tied that extra little message onto one of the using

Burlap String Ivory

And it elevated the appearance of that card even more!

Here is a close Up of it:
Just a simple bow can make such a difference!

I am a firm believer that Ribbon is like cheese.
It makes EVERYTHING Better!!

If you are planning to make cards this Holiday season,
you should browse the Really Reasonable Ribbon site for
that perfect ribbon to elevate your own cards!
Think Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Christmas!
This is card making season y'all!
Go grab your ribbons!

"Little Stinker" Boutique Bow

Hi Y'all! Misty @Mommyofkidz here today sharing a bow that I created using a plethora of Really Reasonable Ribbon!  When I make bows, I primarily use Grosgrain Ribbon because it is thicker and will hold it's shape better than any other. Occasionally, I will use others such as the May Arts Gingham ribbons for a bit of enhancements. I rarely will use Satin Ribbon on my bows, but I have been known to once or twice. Especially if I find one with a fabulous print!

Today's Bow, however, only uses two types of ribbon.  Grosgrain and Gingham.  I have incorporated a variety of prints into this mix to add a bit of whimsy. I have grosgrain ribbons in  Stripes, Solids, Swiss Dots and Florals. and I even added in one of those irresistible May Arts Ginghams that I mentioned earlier.

I used a total of 8 different ribbons for this bow, in all different sizes.
If you go shopping in the Really Reasonable Ribbon Store, you will find most of these ribbons are still available...or something similar.  And a LOT of it just might be on SALE!
Oh...I also buy all of my clips from RIGHT HERE .  Bonnie has ALL the variety and shapes imaginable, and everything that I need!

The cute little skunk center that I used is the only think that I used that is not available in the RRR Shop, but I did include a photo of the buttons that I used.  I have had these in my stash for a while now, and it was time to use them! So I did a mash-up of the 2 themes. lol

I hope my bow has inspired you to get crafty with som GORGEOUS ribbon!!
I LOVE LOVE LOVE playing with ribbon!
I think I have more boutique hair bow than any grown woman should have!
HA HA HA!
Maybe my next project will be a new bow holder for them!

Thanks for dropping by today!
I hope to see you again soon!

Merry Christmas

It's never a wrong time to make and share a Christmas card.  In fact, I started in July during a fun Christmas in July Linky Party and I've continued doing so this month.  When the craziness of December comes rolling along, I'll be ahead of the game as far as my Christmas cards are concerned.  Now, for the Christmas shopping.  Oh, my!!  That's another story altogether.  It's always a blessing to know that Really Reasonable Ribbon will always have the PERFECT ribbons, trims, Twines, Flowers, Adhesives and ALL I need to adorn my cards and creations......at Christmas and all year round.
This card started with cream cardstock and some Crate Paper patterned papers from the Peppermint line.  The cream base was stamped using the adorable Christmas Text Background Stamp Set.  It's truly a shame that you can't see more of this adorable stamp.  I covered it a bit with the sweet Merry Christmas sentiment from Bonnie Garby Designs; and can be found in the Merry Christmas Sentiment Digital Stamp Set.
At the middle of my card, I attached a cute little kraft/polka dot envelope.  I wrapped some of the pretty Peppermint Baker's Twine around my card and tied a bow with it.  I also added a glitter-dusted red jingle bell that's tied with Cherry Baker's Twine.  I also tucked in little paper scraps here and there on my card to add touches of color and because, well honestly, I just love layers of paper.
In the next photo (below), you'll see what happens when I open up that cute little kraft envelope.  I tucked in a second sentiment from Bonnie Garby Designs.  This one can be found in the Christmas Song Lyrics Digital Stamp Set.  These sentiments are SO sweet and SO affordable.  At the top right of the little sentiment, I attached a bit of 1/4" Chevron Red Striped Twill Ribbon using a Tim Holtz miniature paper clip.  It tucks right in that little envelope for an added surprise.
There are SO many fun ribbons, trims and twines waiting for you at Really Reasonable Ribbon.  It's amazing how much FUN and texture you can add to your cards and projects with a simple trim.  Be sure to stop by Really Reasonable Ribbon to check out all their fabulous products, and by the Really Reasonable Ribbon Blog for lots of great inspiration.  Thanks so much for stopping by today, friends.

Blessings,
Karen

As For Me and My House

When I was younger, of course, I had no idea who I would marry or where we would live, etc.  I did, however, know for sure from a very young age that I would always be part of a family that loves the Lord and lives for Him.  When I first married my husband in 1985, we were just 19 years old.  We had much to learn about life.  But praise God, we knew that our household would always serve and honor the Lord.  This card and sweet sentiment from Bonnie Garby Designs really celebrate that concept.
This card matches the Lord is My Shepherd card I posted a couple of days ago.  You could say that they're a set, I guess.  I used kraft cardstock and created a fun fold with a closure that opens to reveal a fun inside of the card.  The patterned papers I used are from the Colonial Americana 6x6 Paper Pad by Whimsy Stamps.  The little house I cut uses wool felt, patterned papers, a piece of Solid Red Baker's Twine and a very old die set from Papertrey Ink.
The sentiment I used can be found in the Scriptural Quotes Digital Stamp Bundle which is from Bonnie Garby Designs.  I added the sentiment to the tab enclosure that I created earlier in the process.  I attached the sentiment using Scor-Tape.  We all need Adhesives like Scor-Tape and 3-D Foam Tabs, so why not grab them from Really Reasonable Ribbon?
You'll always find lots of great inspiration on the Really Reasonable Ribbon Blog, and lots of great shopping at Really Reasonable Ribbon.  Thanks so much for visiting to take a quick peek at this sweet little card wrapped with Burlap String.  There are so many great trims (and SO much more) waiting for you at Really Reasonable Ribbon.  Happy crafting!

Blessings,
Karen

The Lord is My Shepherd

There's nothing like a beautiful Bible scripture or lovely sentiment to place on your card.  While we all love our stamps, they can get expensive.  By purchasing a simple bundle of digital stamps, you can easily and inexpensively expand your collection of sentiments and scriptures.  One really great place to buy those awesome digital stamps is Bonnie Garby Designs.  I love her digital stamps.  And of course, you're always sure to find the perfect ribbons, trims and twines at Really Reasonable Ribbon.
I used a light kraft cardstock and patterned papers from Whimsy Stamps.  I layered my papers and cut some smaller squares using a postage die cut from Papertrey Ink.  I placed the papers and random squares of paper around my card using lots of Scor-Tape to hold everything securely in place.  I printed my sentiment and placed it on 3-D Foam Tabs to raise it.  As I mentioned, the sentiment is from Bonnie Garby Designs and can be found in the Scriptural Quotes Digital Stamp Bundle.
I took a very long length of Natural Burlap String and wrapped it around my card several times, tying it into a bow on the front of my card.  I absolutely LOVE Burlap String.  It's such a fabulous trim, it comes it so many great colors, and it's just TEN CENTS per yard.  One person who visits Really Reasonable Ribbon to see all their fabulous trims and leaves me a message here on this post telling me their favorite color of Burlap String will WIN a 10-yard bundle of Burlap String from me.  I will post the lucky winner's name in my next RRR blog post.
The sweet little sheep I added were created using cream and brown wool felt and were cut using the super cute Primitive Sheep Die Cuts from Whimsy Stamps.   They're just so sweet, and I thought they really went well with the sentiment.  Please be sure to stop by Really Reasonable Ribbon to do some shopping for Adhesives, Mulberry Flowers, and ribbons/trims galore.  Thanks so much for visiting me.

Blessings,
Karen

Autumn....Letting Go

Hello, creative friends!  Welcome by today as I share a pretty Autumn card that I created using a few of the fabulous trims and products from Really Reasonable Ribbon.  I just LOVE the charm, warmth, depth, texture and dimension that trims add to our cards and projects.  Really Reasonable Ribbon always has the perfect trim for every one of your creations.  I used an lovely sentiment from Bonnie Garby Designs reminding us that Autumn's beauty can remind us of the joy we can receive by letting go of the past and looking to the future.
For this card, I used black cardstock and patterned paper scraps and stickers from a familiar old Crate Paper line called Farmhouse.  It's so charming, and the colors went well with my Fall themed card.  I used various sizes of the Postage Dies to cut my layers that I attached using Scor-Tape and 3-D Foam Tabs for dimension.  Once I layered up all the patterned papers, I attached my sentiment which is from Bonnie Garby Designs.  There's always a perfect sentiment to be found in the Autumn Sentiments Stamp Bundle at Bonnie Garby Designs.
The trims I attached to my card include a length of Olive Burlap StringIvory Burlap String, and Orange Burlap String.  I also tucked in some Double Head Stamens.  There are so many great products like these at Really Reasonable Ribbon to adorn your cards; and they really do come in just about every color you can imagine.  Burlap String is yet another trim that RRR carries in most every color imaginable.  It's an affordable accent that adds so much.
Thanks again for stopping by today.  There's so much great inspiration here on the Really Reasonable Ribbon Blog and on the Really Reasonable Ribbon Instagram Page.  We hope you'll think of us for all your ribbon, trim, twine, adhesive and flower needs.  Have a wonderfully creative day, everyone.

Karen
