Crayon Art Mini Album

Hello everyone! It's Emily here from Create Serendipity. Today I wanted to share a mini album that was inspired by a few different pins on Pinterest. 

I'm sure you all have seen the melted crayon art, right? I've been eyeing it for a while and finally I decided to give it a try. I didn't have a stretched canvas laying around, so I thought I'd try something different... a mini album. 

I had some library pockets that my mother in law gave me (she's a librarian) and I searched "library pocket" on pinterest and found a neat album idea. 

So I made a mini album with the inside pages out of library pockets.

Last, but not least... I added lots of pretty ribbons to jazz the album up a bit!

Hey everyone! It's Emily here trying to enjoy this last little bit of Summer before it slips away! I've been so busy that I have not gotten a chance to take a trip to the beach and soak up the sun, so my husband and I are planning that for our anniversary next month. 

Until then... I will continue to make pretty beachy paper craft projects! 

My daughter loves mermaids, so I made her a fun little tag...

 I had loads of fun with the ribbon on this! In my book, it's better to overload projects with yummy ribbon! There can never be too much ribbon!

Life Is A Beach

Hey Everyone! It's Emily here again from Create Serendipity. Today I have another fun altered project to share! 

Have you ever shopped the $ spot at Target? I LOVE shopping there! Not only is everything $1 (or $2.50 for some bigger items), but they are full of really cool trinkets & things for kids as well as fun alterable items! I picked up this little tray there this past Spring. I've been holding on to it, actually, I was using it to hold stickers, but decided it would serve a better purpose as a home decor piece!

I love anything beachy. My whole living room is decorated in a beach theme, so this project fits perfectly! Aren't the little crabs cute?

I decided to make a little banner that said "Beach" and clip it to some jute with some mini clothes pins. Since this tray had handles, I tied the jute to each side and made the banner pop a little for a dimensional effect.

Magnetic Memo Board

Hey everyone! It's Monday again! Emily here from Create Serendipity to share a fun alterable project! 

Recently I was at a thrift store on the lookout for a baking sheet. I didn't want to spend a ton of $ on a brand new one because I thought I might be able to get one cheaper at a thrift shop. Certainly, I did! I don't really know if it's a baking sheet, but it works worked my project! 

I had an idea to do a magnetic memo board. These are SO simple to make! Grab a baking sheet and some magnets and let the creativity flow!

The little rosettes have magnets on the back as well as the notepad, so they can all be moved around.

I wanted to add a little photo banner at the top and showcase a few of my own photos.

A Pretty Banner

Happy Monday all! It's Emily here from Create Serendipity to share another fun little project that I made!

I've been on a banner kick here lately, they are so much fun to make! Since we recently moved to a new home, I wanted to make some home decor projects to go along with the new place. One of the first new projects I made was a banner for my daughter's room.

The banner spells out her name "Reagan". For the base, I actually used a flower shaped chipboard album.

I added little paper rosettes on each piece to give it a little dimension.

And what banner is complete without some pretty ribbons, right? I loaded this one up with all kinds of bright & cheery ribbons! My daughter has the banner hanging on her bedroom door and she loves it!

Happy Easter everyone! It's Emily here wish a quick little post before I head out the door to spend Easter with my lovely family ♥

Today I have a little layout to share with you... I've been on a layout kick lately which really hasn't been my thing in the past, but I've been enjoying making them and getting some of my photos displayed on pages.

This is a layout that features a photo from my wedding. I just love the colors in this one. I used some of the Fuchsia Satin w/Scalloped Edge ribbon on this one. I just LOVE that ribbon! I have it in every color! Such a great quality ribbon!

Sunset Beach ♥

Happy Friday crafty friends! It's Emily here from Create Serendipity here today to share a little layout that I made this past week!

I'm not really a layout girl, but I have been enjoying making them lately! Especially since I have a ton of lovely ribbons to add to them!

I made this layout with one of my favorite photos from my beach wedding in Sunset Beach, NC.

Layering ribbons is a great way to break up the page when you want to use 2 different patterned papers.

Time Is Precious

Hello everyone! It's Emily here from Create Serendipity with a sweet little mini album to share today!

I actually made a little mini album with some of my own photos, which I rarely get time to do, so I'm excited about this one!

This was the first canvas album that I've ever done, I think I will have to buy some more of them to do, I love how this one turned out! It was so much fun to alter!

The album was made around photos of my daughter that were taken at my cousins wedding in September. My daughter was the flower girl and she had a little crush on the ring bearer the whole day, which made for some very adorable photos! :-)

Spring Sweetie

Hello everyone! It's Emily here from Create Serendipity! Since the weather here in southern Ohio has been wacky lately, I got in a "Spring" kick with my project for today. Well, it was 70 degrees and sunny while I was scrapping, so maybe that's why... considering on Monday we had 2 inches of snow!

Today, I have a fun little layout to share with you today! I am NOT a layout maker and I rarely do them, but this year I made a resolution to get my daughter's first couple of years scrapped. She's only 4 now, so I don't have TOO much that I haven't got finished!

I found a sketch for this layout somewhere online and wanted to try it. For me, sketches are a life-saver when making layouts!

I used some of the Pink Satin w/Scalloped Edge Ribbon. I just LOVE this ribbon! The quality of it is fabulous!

Love Birds

Hello everyone! It's Emily here again with a fun little project to share with you today!

Have you seen those cute little bird houses at the craft stores lately for $1 and wanted to decorate them? I know I have picked up several and finally I got around to doing something fun with one of them using some Really Reasonable Ribbon!

How cute is that, right? I loved the little heart and the fence on this one.

I had an idea to alternate ruffle ribbon and paper on the roof to make it look like shingles, I think it worked out pretty nicely!

Sweet Baby Boy Mini Album

Happy Monday everyone! It's Emily here today with another fun little mini album.

I made this paper bag mini album for my neighbor who wanted an album to store photos of her baby boy.

You can't tell from the photos, but I added some of the Middy Bitty bags in between every white bag for more photo space and also more pockets to tuck little things in. I think pockets are PERFECT for baby albums, I know I saved a lot of little things when my daughter was born that would fit perfectly right inside those little pockets.
