Woodland Creature Cards by Cherry Nelson

Hellllllllllo RRR peeps!  Cherry here on the blog today to share a woodland theme holiday greeting with you.  If there are cute animals involved, I am always down for creating with them.  We all could use some cuteness in the world right about now.  I gathered up my supplies and created a more traditional Nordic color scheme with my hedgehog shaker, and the other card is in more masculine forest greens and browns.  I love this sweet owl and the sentiment "tis the season to be J'owly" ...also love me a good pun.

I used lots of fun flowers..some from Really Reasonable Ribbon and some I created using Foamirian and stamens from the store.  I used diecuts in varying size frames to create a shadow effect on both cards.  I love the dimension it adds to my cards.   Well that is it for me.  Please scroll down for a full supply list.

As always thanks for stopping by!  Stay healthy and creative friends.

XOXO, Cherry

Gingerbread Latte Easel Card

Hello everyone, and Happy Thursday to you all! Today I have a super fun easel card I made for Really Reasonable Ribbon.  It's been a while since I've done one of these types of cards, and I thought it would be  so cute using the gingerbread boy, latte cup, flowers, ribbon, and design paper to match.

My card measures 6" x  6" closed. I used the super cute stamps and dies from Makers Movement, and I love this little gingerbread guy, he is on a scenery I did for the Latte cup. I used flower soft for the snow, and added the trees. The cup was cut using the snowflake design paper. For my bows I used the satin with grosgrain edge ribbon, and then added my 25mm cottage roses, and then the rose buds in white and blue.

Really Reasonable Ribbon Supplies Used:

other supplies
My Makers Movement dies and stamps, warm wishes stamp and die, A latte Love,
peppermint twists sprinkles
pebbles design paper
flower soft
Copics
Stickles , white gel pen, sewing machine, hot glue gun
I hope you enjoyed my fun card today, as I enjoyed making it to share. Hugs to all!

Autumn Hued Ribbon and Flowers

Kathy Clement for Really Reasonable Ribbon

Hello, Ribbon Lovers!  The colors of fall are rich, warm and luxurious.  So is this gorgeous Cappuccino Satin Ribbon with a Grosgrain Edge from Really Reasonable Ribbon.  It's the perfect ribbon choice for autumn hued projects like this November Desk Calendar.

If you struggle with making beautiful bows, I highly recommend giving Satin with a Grosgrain Edge Ribbon a try!  It is soft and supple, so it ties very easily.  And it comes in just about every shade you could ever want or need.  It's one of my favorites.  Especially when it is paired up with Natural Burlap String and Mixed Earth Tone Cottage Roses!

TIP:  You can add depth and detail to your Mixed Earth Tone Cottage Roses by brushing the edges lightly with Gathered Twigs Distress Ink.  It softens the colors and helps them blend better with these autumn hued papers.

This 6x6 easel card has a hidden pocket panel.

It's the perfect spot to tuck in a little photo folio where you can capture fall memories and snapshots.

And if one pocket is good, then two pockets is even better!  The stopper on this easel card is actually a pocket.  I've filled it up with tri-fold folios that are sized perfectly for wallet sized photos.  And I've added in some journal cards, too.

It's hard to believe that it's almost November!  Time to break out the Thanksgiving decorations and create a warm and cozy atmosphere inside our homes.

Wishing you a joyful and creative day!

I Hope This Perks You Up

Hello!  I welcome you by today as I share a fun card I created for Really Reasonable Ribbon.  There are SO many fabulous products at Really Reasonable Ribbon; and I'm not just talking about their hundreds of fabulous ribbons.  They also carry Adhesives, Mulberry Flowers, Embellishments, Hair Accessories, the fabulous Ribbon Club Assortment and SO much more.  You can visit their fabulous store here at Really Reasonable Ribbon Shop.
This card started with a piece of white cardstock.  Next, I used oxide inks and a polka dot stencil to create my golden background.  Once my base and background were all in place, I started adding several other FUN things to my card.  I cut the owl, sentiment, coffee drink and sentiment; and laid everything out at the bottom of my card.  Everything is secured with strips of Scor-Tape.
At the top of my card, I ran a width of Mare Brown Seam Binding and I used that to tie my bow as well. I tucked in some Yellow, Red, and Gold Double Head Stamens as well as some Mulberry Leaves.  I topped the bow with some Deep Ivory and Orange Open Roses.  All these gorgeous products work together to help make your projects extra special.  You're sure to find something you'll LOVE when you stop by Really Reasonable Ribbon.
We hope that you'll stop by the Really Reasonable Ribbon Blog often for loads of inspiration, special sales and promotions; and of course lots of great shopping in the Really Reasonable Ribbon Store.  I'm so grateful for your visit today.  If you'd like my complete supply list, you're welcome to stop by my blog, My Cup Runneth Over, for additional details.  Happy crafting, everyone.

Farm Fresh Pumpkins Greeting Card

Hey there friends and crafty peeps! Ginny here with a farm house style Fall inspired greeting card.

I love the warm rich colors of this card. Perfect for Fall or Thanksgiving.

I've combined a pretty plaid with a stylized floral and layered on some polka dots.

There's a double layer of matting here. The orange coordinates with the patterned papers but was a bit too light so I added the chocolate brown to anchor the layers.

Here's a garden full of WOC Mulberry flowers arranged with die cut foliage, netting, loopy twine bows, and glitter cardstock.

One last sweet little twine bow and vintage button to top off the strings tying on the metal charms.

Please enjoy this tutorial...

Wishing everyone a happy and productive day : )  G

Combining the Colors of Fall blank Card by Cherry Nelson

Hello RRR peeps!  Cherry here today to share a pretty card...that kinda combines the colors of late Summer and early Fall.

I used a combination of deep oranges, greens, and hints of blues. I really love the way it turned out.
I struggled a bit with whether or not to add a sentiment.  I really think sometimes cards should just tell a story and the inside can be the place to add a personal sentiment.  Blank cards are always a great thing to have on hand so they can be used for a number of occasions.

Many of the flowers were handmade by me.  I used a Copic marker on my ivy and did a bit of shading for depth.

Well my friends that is it for me!  Stay crafting and creative!  XOXO, Cherry

The Splendor of Fall Card Recipe

Really Reasonable Ribbon Fall Card Recipe by Kathy Clement

Hello, Friends!  Today I have a recipe for a pair  of "twin" fall cards that use ribbon...but not bows!

Fall Cards with Really Reasonable Ribbon by Kathy Clement

Ribbon doesn't always have to be tied into a bow.  For these cards, I created an elegant border with 5/8" Cappuccino Satin with a Grosgrain Edge Ribbon.  Attach the ribbon with 1/2" Scor-Tape.  Leave the ends slightly longer than the card panel.  Then wrap the ends around to the back side of the card for a neat and tidy finish.

No room for a bulky bow?  Fold a 4" piece of ribbon in half.  Cut fishtails on the ends.  Then tuck beneath a floral arrangement to add a touch of color and texture.  This Sunflower Satin Ribbon is a match made in heaven for these Splendor papers. Add a touch of rustic charm with  loopy Burlap String Bows.

Sunflowers and Really Reasonable Ribbon by Kathy Clement

The great thing about having card "recipe" is that you can use it as a template for cards made with any of your favorite paper collections and ribbons.  Here's the recipe for this card design.

All the papers for this card come from the Splendor 6x6 Paper Bundle.

  • First, create a 5 1/2" square top fold card base from one sheet of 8 1/2" x 11" kraft cardstock.
  • Next cut a 5 1/8" square of the fall plaid pattern. Save the off cut of this panel.
  • Cut a 5 1/4" square of yellow cardstock and a 5 3/8" square of brown cardstock.
  • Then cut a 2 1/2" x 5 1/8" panel of the fall pumpkins.
  • Now layer the cut papers on the cardstock mats as follows:
    • First put down the fall plaid paper panel.
    • Next layer in the offcut from the fall plaid paper about 3/4" from the left hand edge.
    • Then add the fall pumpkin layer.
    • Now stitch the panels to the cardstock mats on your sewing machine.

TIP: Steer clear of a sticky situation by placing your adhesive in the center of each panel and away from the sides.  This way, your sewing machine needle will not get gummed up and your thread will not break.

  • Now you are ready to wrap the card panel with your Scor-Tape and Ribbon.
  • Die cut two Doily Rounds from cream cardstock and adhere in the center of the card.
  • Then punch out the oval sentiment from the Cardstock Elements sheet.  Back with two layers of dimensionals and adhere in the center of the doily.
  • Add flowers, rhinestones, ribbons and vintage buttons to finish the card design.

TIP: You can use handmade flowers, or pre-made flowers.  Both are gorgeous. Find a tutorial for making these sunflowers HERE.

Now we will finish the inside of the card.  It's easy, peasy!

  • First, cut (2) 5 3/8" panels of designer paper and adhere to the top and bottom of the card.
  • Next, create a pocket with the rectangular die cut sentiment from the Elements sheet. Just place your adhesive on the sides and bottom.
  • Create a belly band with a 1 3/4" x 5 3/8" strip of the pumpkin pattern.  Adhere just the top and bottom edges to the fall check.
  • Mat a 3x4 journal card on a 3 1/4" x 8 1/2" panel of cardstock.  Score in half and fold to make a little notecard to tuck inside the belly band.

Now that you know how to put these cards together, it will be quick and easy to make more!
