The Beauty of Burlap String

Hello, Friends!  Natural Burlap String is one of my crafting staples!  I rarely make a card that doesn't use it in one way or another.  It's great for threading buttons, adding a little string bow to a bow cluster, or wrapping around a card to create a border.  It adds so much lovely texture to a card that sometimes I like to use it all on its own as I did on this Botanical Tea Birthday Pop Up Card.

This is a 6" x 6" top fold card made with Graphic 45's Botanical Tea Collection.  I love the soft colors and natural images in these papers, so it made sense to create a bow with a rustic, natural feel.  Burlap String comes in a rainbow of colors, but I chose to work with Natural Burlap String.  I love Natural and Ivory Burlap String so much that I buy them by the spool!

The Zutter Bow-it-all Tool makes it super quick an easy to tie these  fluffy, full string bows.   Bonnie has a wonderful YouTube Tutorial showing you how to use natural fibers in your bow making.  You can find it HERE

The inside of this card has a fun pop up gift card holder.

I did a YouTube tutorial for this quick and easy pop up style card.  You can find that HERE.  It uses different papers, but the process is the same.

Hope I've shared some tips and tricks that you can use in your own crafty adventures!  Thanks for stopping by!

Hi friends.  This is Bonnie from Make Time to Craft back again and today we are taking the Basic Checkerboard Woven Ribbon Headband one step further for a new 'deluxe' look using ribbon and headbands from Really Reasonable Ribbon.
My color palette for this headband came from the lovely July 2016 Ribbon Club Assortment from Really Reasonable Ribbon which is filled with beautiful pink and purple ribbon styles.  This time the headband is created using 1/4" Grosgrain Ribbon and a 3/4" White Plastic Headband.

This unique new woven ribbon headband variation builds on what you learned with the Basic Checkerboard Woven Ribbon Headband.  Master this headband variation and you will be the envy of your friends!

This is a unique woven ribbon headband that I have not seem anywhere before.  It's a little trickier to manipulate the ends, but if you follow my suggestions on the video below and practice a little, you will be very pleased with the results.  I created a few different color samples of this great woven ribbon headband but the possibilities are endless!

Bi-Color Double-Loop Double-Layer Bow Video Tutorial with the Zutter Bow-it-All V2.0

Hi friends.  I finally got my act together and have the video tutorial for you that I've been promising for months (like perhaps since January....) hahaha  You're going to need some pretty ribbon from Really Reasonable Ribbon along with your Bow-it-All V2.0 Tool.  If you haven't picked this great tool up yet, you really must.  I use it on ALL my projects.

I love this bow because it adds a beautiful touch to your project and it looks super complicated when it's really not.  So, get ready to 'wow' your friends and family!

So this is the little beauty I'm going to show you how to make.  Pretty soon you'll be making these gorgeous bows for all your projects too!

I used my all time favorite Delicate Stitched Satin Ribbon in blue topaz and royal blue.  I've said this before, but it bears repeating.  This ribbon performs beautifully for fancy loopy bows.  Do yourself a favor and begin with an easy ribbon.  There is NO ribbon you can't use, but it's easier to start with one that will cooperate and then move on to more challenging styles.  (Best part is that Delicate Stitched Satin is a really inexpensive ribbon style!)

Zutter Bow-it-All V2.0 Tutorial - Double-Loop Double-Layer Bow

This is the 3rd post for the day.  Please scroll down for the new challenge and the winners from the last challenge.

Hi everyone.  Bonnie here swinging in with a new Bow-it-All V2.0 tutorial featuring some great ribbon styles from Really Reasonable Ribbon.  I'm am asked quite a bit about how I make my favorite double-loop double-layer bow, so I've made a video.  Now you can make them yourself!

Along with the bow tutorial, I talk a little bit about ribbon selection.  The type of ribbon that you use will greatly affect the finished look of your bows.  My top 2 picks for this particular bow are Delicate Stitched Satin and 5/8" Plaid Ribbon.  Both are lightweight, but still have a nice amount of body which will give your bow a nice tight center and pretty puffy loops that hold their shape.

If you've been working with your Bow-it-All and you're not quite happy with your results, please get some of this ribbon and try again.  It could make all the difference.  Once you practice and refine your skills, you can tie beautiful bows with ANY ribbon style, but why frustrate yourself when you are learning?!

Here is the Tell-All Video.  I hope you like it!

Bow-it-All V2.0 Video Tutorial * Mastering the Locking C-knot for Righties AND Lefties

Hello fellow ribbon lovers!  I'm back today with another Bow-it-All V2.0 video tutorial to review two things that give people the most trouble.  I will be reviewing the locking c-knot and I'm demonstrating for both lefties and righties.

As I state in the video below, it is NOT mandatory that you learn this knot.  If you just can't get it, but your bows are beautiful and they stay tied, keep doing what you are doing.  It's a great knot to use if you can though, since it is very difficult to untie once it's tied and tightened.

I also have a quick card to share.  This is an all-occasion card that I can use for whatever arises.  All I have to do is quickly add an appropriate sentiment to the inside of the card.

This is another card using a great digi sheet from one of my favorite etsy sellers - Cobra Graphics.  There are so many great options available, and by having these digi's on hand, I can quickly make up a card even with the very limited time I have.

My bow is a simple double-layer bow made from 5/8" White Delicate Stitched Satin using my Bow-it-All V2.0.  This is one of my favorite ribbons to work with on the Bow-it-All as it performs wonderfully for any type of bow.  I also added a piece of 3/8" White Double-faced Satin above the scallop punch around the middle of the card.

Thanks so much for stopping by today.
Don't forget I have a giveaway posted on my MakeTime2Craft Blog through July 13, 2014.
Head on over and enter to win!

Shabby Chic Floral Delight Page 2 with Video

Happy Monday to everyone! Today's Really Reasonable Ribbon project is another page for the chipboard mini I'm working on. On this page here, I used lots of Really Reasonable Ribbon Seam Binding and Sweetheart Blossoms, all can be found at the Really Reasonable Ribbon store.

For the photo above, I used the Moss Green Seam Binding and ruched it up. I also used the baby pink, and (Rose Petal) on top I added a CottageCutz butterfly.

For the floral sprays and stems, I show how I created these using Really Reasonable Ribbons Seam Binding in Moss Green and Score Tape 5/8".  I also added some Sweetheart Blossoms throughout this page, and handmade flowers using seam binding.

The photo mat is done with Spellbinders Dies.  At the top behind the Photo Mat I used a CottageCutz Tea Time Doily, and for the bottom corner I used the CottageCutz Bella Spring Corner.

Thank you for looking and have a lovely day to all!
