While summer is just halfway over here, the heat has made me long for cooler temperatures and the fall crisp air. So today I am sharing a shaker card with an autumn theme. 

I thought I would lay it flat so you can see all of the pretty sequins and the different colors inside my punched out leaves (Stampin' Up!).

I used Autumn Leaves on Ivory Grosgrain because it matched perfectly! I added a wheat stalk die cut (Reverse Confetti) and then a half twist of ribbon, with a paper leaf and a matching rhinestone on top for embellishments. 

I think the ribbon pattern adds such a fun touch! Thanks for stopping by today!

Let Today Last Forever Distress Oxide Tag

Hello, Ribbon Lovers!  Have you ever enjoyed a summer day so much that you didn't want it to end? That's the thought behind this Let Today Last Forever Jumbo Tag made with Distress Inks and pretty purple ribbons from the July Ribbon Club Mix.

The base of this mixed media art tag is a jumbo manila tag measuring 4.25" x 8.5".  I'm really enjoying playing with my Distress Oxide Inks, so I decided to create the background with that instead of paper.  I smooshed Dusty Concord, Fossilized Amber, Peeled Paint and Wild Honey inks onto my craft sheet, spritzed them with water and then dragged the tag through the inky puddle.  The secret to success with Distress Oxide Inks is to dry each layer as you go.  This way, the inks don't get muddy.

To add some extra dimension, I ran the slightly damp tag through an embossing folder, then sponged over the top with more Dusty Concord ink.  I layered up a bunch of pretty elements, then added the bow cluster.

This Delphinium Delicate Stitched Satin helped to highlight the purple shades in the composition. A loopy bow tied with Natural Burlap String  fills out the cluster and adds even more texture.I added another section of it to the top of the tag, then tied a square knot with Mixed Purple Bold Diagonal Stripes Ribbon.

Easy DIY DreamCatcher with Ribbons, Lace and Trims

Hi friends! Linsey here and I'm excited to share a fun and super easy project with you! I've been wanting to make a dreamcatcher for a really long time and I finally did it! All of my dreamy RRR ribbons were truly my inspiration for this sweet little handmade decoration and I love how it turned out! I hope you do to!

For my version, I didn't do a traditional web pattern on the inside of the circle. Instead, I found a piece of circle-style chipboard in my stash, spray painted it with Krylon 18KT Gold (same as the gold tipped feathers), then simply used one of my many miniature hand crocheted (not by me) doilies for the center and it worked great. Plus it was quick and easy--love. and love.

Now, on to all those wonderful ribbons, lace and trims, which I wanted to make the main focal point of my dreamcatcher....

I used a variety of different textures but kept most of them neutral in color. A few strips of Cream Seam Binding gave it the silky and shabby-chic feel I wanted. I also wanted a lot of beautiful lace trims in both white and ivory tones. I chose Sharon White Crochet Lace and Gabrielle Off-White Crochet Lace as well as Debra Natural Crochet Lace. For a bit of color and texture contrast, I add some  Light Blue Mini Ric Rac sprayed with a bit of emerald green shimmer mist and some Natural Jute String. I tattered up the Jute String a little and really liked the effect it gave--more interest and texture--yes! :)

Feathers are sometimes added to dreamcatchers, so it was a chance for me to add a few my gold tipped feathers--plus, I think feathers go good with all the yummy ribbons. I even included a pretty gold and pearl round buckle ribbon slider from the Bling Metal Rhinestone Buckle Ribbon Slider Assortment on one of the strands of Cream Seam Binding and a couple pearl flower buttons from my stash. These are just a few of the countless things you can add--just think of how you can de-stash by adding buttons, beads, sliders, charms--the imagination is the limit!

The dreamcatcher looked great to me without anything in the middle, but I decided that I also liked how this inspirational sentiment worked, so I added it to center of the doily. I put 2 clear flower stickers with gold enamel dots in the centers to the front of the gold chipboard, which tied in the blue ric rac and overall, I think it came together beautifully! Most importantly, I had a lot of fun getting creative and trying something new to me! Thanks so much for stopping by and I hope you enjoyed my dreamcatcher! Happy crafting!

I have a fun thank you card full of Victorian steam punk charm!

 I used both Grass Green and Sun Rose Seam Binding.

 I embossed my sentiment using black embossing powder.   

I also added Gingham Covered buttons and gorgeous Flowers.

Hello crafty friends and Happy Friday to you all! Today's card is a super fun birthday card created for Really Reasonable Ribbon using the beautiful satin ribbon that came in last month's Ocean Breeze Assortment. I love the colors in this club assortment and customers with addresses in the USA can still grab it through the end of July!

 I made my big bow using the satin, and love how it turned out. Easy when you use the beautiful and nice ribbons that Bonnie carries over at the Really Reasonable Ribbon shop. I also used the foam tabs that can be found here.

The flowers were made using dies and coordinating design paper. I did use the Glass flower technique that I do on a lot of my flowers. I love how these look in person. Not like paper :) heheheh For the centers I chose to use some of my beads from my collection. I have hundreds of these that I ended up with from my moms best friend.

The stamp is from The Project Bin, and it is super cute. I did the stamping with the Mini Misti tool. Love that tool for stamping. I have to say you never get a bad stamped image using this - what a life saver .

The design paper is from American Crafts, and I added sewing to complete my card for today.

Today I grabbed a Spellbinders die that has been sitting idle on my shelf for years.  Do you have some of these crafty things too??  You just had to have it and then never use it.  It's a shame.  So, dust off those crafty goodies and USE them.  :)

This card came together pretty quickly as I let the background die do most of the work.  I added some pearls to the butterfly to create a body.  Then I stamped my sentiment and mounted it on a tag die.  I layered two of the ribbons from the July Ribbon Club Assortment to use for the sentiment tag.  I adhered the ribbon to the back of the main panel and then backed that with white mulberry paper.

I created a pretty bi-color bow using my Bow-it-All V3.0 using two of the 5/8" ribbon styles from the assortment.  I topped off the bow with a Heart Shaped Flat Back Pearl Bead.  Once completed, I added it to my card below my sentiment.
