Summertime Folio

Hello, Ribbon Lovers!  Even though it seems like winter would never give up this year, my calendar tells me that summer is fast approaching.  Soon we'll all be swimming at the pool, going on vacation or picnicking in the park.  Summertime is just filled with fun events that make for great memories!  It's always nice to have a spot to preserve and showcase all the great photos we take during the summer season, isn't it?  This Summertime Folio filled with flips, flaps, tags, pockets and tuck spots is quick to  make, and fun to flip through.

I love it when I can find the absolute perfect ribbon match for a project.  This 5/8" Black Plaid Ribbon lends a country chic vibe to this 6.75" x 7.25" folio.  Tying this triple loop bow was quick and easy, thanks to my Zutter Bow-it-All Tool.

I've tucked in a loopy Black Burlap String Bow to add extra texture to the bow cluster.  It also really helps my red flowers pop!

Inside the folio, I've created a fun pull out photo album, tied with more of the same black plaid ribbon. The box style pocket holds sweet little tags and mini folio.

Black Plaid Ribbon tops the tags.  But I also added a decorative bow tied with Red Cherry Print. Sheer Organza Ribbon.  I love using organza ribbon on summer projects as it is light and airy!

I prepared a short 6 minute video tour of the folio so you can see how all the mechanisms work.  I hope you enjoy!

I hope I've shared some ideas that will help you make the most of your beautiful Really Reasonable Ribbon! If so, I 'd love to hear from you in the comment section below.

Vintage Purple Roses Tri-Fold Folio with Tips and Tricks

Hello, Ribbon Lovers!  I've had so much fun playing with the Purple and Green Mix Ribbon Club Assortment this month!  The colors, patterns and textures have really brightened up my winter landscape.  I was thrilled to discover that the purple ribbons are a great playmate for my Heartfelt Creations Butterfly Medley papers.  So I worked them up into this shabby chic Vintage Purple Roses Tri-Fold Folio.

The folio measures 5" x 7" with half inch spines.  I used gorgeous  5/8" Hyacinth Satin Ribbon with a Grosgrain Edge to create a ribbon closure for the album.   My bow cluster is made with the 5/8" Hyacinth Satin Swirl Ribbon topped off with some Gold Metallic String and a button from my stash.  And of course I used my Bow it All  to tie those beautiful bows!

The purple roses and the butterfly are both stamped onto patterned paper and cut with the matching dies.  Did you know that Ultra Violet is one of Pantone's Colors for 2018?  So this Ribbon Club Mix is right on trend!

The folio base is three strips of 11" x 7" heavy lavender cardstock joined together with 1/2" Scor-Tape.  After joining the cardstock strips together, I scored at 5" and again at 5.5", repeating this pattern all the way down the long side.

The folio is filled with flaps, folds, flips, pockets and tags.

Although the folio is not very big, it has room for loads of photos, thanks to this little waterfall feature.

I thought you might enjoy seeing how all the mechanisms work, so I created this YouTube video tour with lots of tips and tricks that you can use to make your own version of this fun little folio.  I hope you enjoy!

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Everyday is a Blessing Birthday Card

Hello, Ribbon Lovers!  Kathy here with a shabbylicious birthday card all done up in pink, gold and brown.

Pink and brown is one of my all time favorite color combinations, and I super love it when combined with Peony Satin Ribbons!  This bodacious bow cluster has a triple loop  Delicate Stitched Satin Ribbon base topped with a double loop Crosshatch on Peony Satin bow and a pretty posie.

Just like the words to the song, "I get by with a little help from my friends," I get by with a little help from my fabulous Zutter-Bow-it-All Tool.  If you struggle to tie big poufy bows like this, then you really need to add it to your crafty wish list.  Once you get the tool, take a little time to watch the "Queen of Bows" (aka Bonnie Garby) tie perfect bows on her YouTube Channel.  That is how I learned, and trust me, if I can do it, anyone can!

Here's the YouTube link to get you started on your very own bow making adventure:

Finally, here's a peek at the inside of this pretty in pink card made with Simple Stories Vintage Blessings paper collection.

Wishing you beautiful bows...
