Two Hearts In One Mixed Media Tag

Hey there Peeps! Ginny here to share another mixed media tag I created for a certain someone to surprise him on his weekend trip away from home.
I know you all are used to me adding big gimongus bows to my projects...but this tag really called for lots of ribbon in a variety of textures and widths and patterns. Also I wanted to reduce the bulkiness of it for packing so it's just run through the metal eyelet and tied off with twine.

The mixed media plan for this card was to add a variety of mediums like inks and stamps and Gelatos....but keep all the colors relatively dark to minimize the contrast.
This combination of embellishments started with an altered chipboard frame then layers of hearts and tags and metal gears. That fabulous texture in the background  comes from some packaging material that came in a box of lovely treats from my BOLB Kathy Clement. A little gold paint was all that it needed to dress it up and coordinate it with the gold on the chipboard heart.

Difficult to see...but I added a bit of acrylic film strip ribbon. If you have some in your own stash...you will know it's packaged in a fun tiny metal tin.  I attempted to take out a small length to add to this tag but it turns out to be a little like those old cans that would have a faux snake squished in that would pop out and surprise the person opening the can.....so there was acrylic ribbon just flying everywhere. I felt like the Three Stooges lol.
Okay on to that glorious ribbon combination~Black Plaid, Diagonal Stripe in Black, Black with Four Thin Stripes Sheer.
For a list of additional supplies please visit me at Polly's Paper Studio.
Okay that's all for me. Wishing all of you a happy and productive day with lots of time to be creative.

Sweet Baby Boy Card with Ribbons

Really Reasonable Ribbon's sweet ribbons, laces and trims are SO incredibly easy to work with that they make it easy to come up with something sweet every time I make a card.  For this simple little baby boy card, I just used some  patterned papers and stickers, and a tag, and added to that by including several of Really Reasonable Ribbon's amazing products.  It was fairly plain until I spiced it up with the ribbons.
It started with the patterned papers, and I inked them, machine stitched them, and set up the layout of the card.  It was definitely needing some RIBBONS!  I added a length of Canvas Colored Band With Stitched Edge in Red along with a length of Green Apeple Baker's Twine that I tied into a bow on the tag.
I also ran the Canvas Colored Band With Stitched Edge in Red along the botton of the card along with some ticket stickers from this collection, and I included the Green Apple Baker's Twine at the bottom as well.  The top of the card has a length of my new favorite lace, the sweet Debra Natural Crochet Lace.  While Really Reasonable Ribbon carries dozens of gorgeous crocheted laces, I like this particular lace because it is very narrow and thin, so it makes a nice border or bow where you need a softer touch.
This card also has some wool felt animals that I cut from a die-cut and stacked on top of one another.  It matches the brown background paper that has VERY faint animals printed on it.  You can see them much better in real life.  I just wanted to explain that so the animals didn't seem so completely random on this card.  LOL

Really Reasonable Ribbon really has the sweetest ribbons and trims to match ANY project.  I really encourage you to check out all the amazing varieties and styles of ribbons, trims, laces, twines, and SO much more carried at Really Reasonable Ribbon.  You will be BLOWN AWAY by all the wonderful choices, and they're all at fabulous prices.  Treat yourself!

Oh, and don't forget about the FUN challenge we have taking place NOW on the Really Reasonable Ribbon Blog.  You won't want to miss out on your opportunity to play along and we always enjoy seeing your fabulous projects.

To do this is really easy and all you need to do is go to Customize > Settings > Comments > then scroll down to where it says comment moderation and select always (this won't stop anybody leaving you a comment but they won't show on your blog until you approve them). Then scroll down to show word verification for comments? and select No.
We love to visit your blogs and leave comments on all the terrific entries, but the word verification really slows us down. :o)

RRR March Blog Hop Winner!

This is the second post of the day. Be sure to scroll down to see the beautiful project that Jennifer has made for us today.

Thank you so much for hopping along with us this month on the Really Reasonable Ribbon's Ramblings Blog Hop. We had so much fun and we hope you did too!! We'll be hopping on the 13th of each month, so be sure to mark your calendars and join us again next month.

Well, I always thought it was LOVE 'EM or HATE 'EM with Peeps and your comments confirmed that.  Seems like there are more lovers than haters.  For those of you outside the US, Peeps are baby chick shaped marshmallows covered with colored sugar which you only used to see at Easter time.  Just terrible for you which is likely why so many people love them.  Now they have them in all shapes and colors and all times of the year.  Go figure!

Now, on to our winner who will receive the March Ribbon Club Assortment from Really Reasonable Ribbon.
The winner will have 48 hours to contact me by clicking on the contact button at the top of the blog and sending me your full name and US shipping address.

And our winner is.... #3

Congratulations Vicki Dutcher!

While peeps are cute to look at, eating, not.so.much. Great hop :)

Now if you didn't win, don't worry!! We will be 'hopping' each month so you'll have another chance to win soon! We hope you stop by and visit our blog often.

Be sure to check out our current challenge here. We'd love to have you play along with us. Have a super day!
