Vintage Image Organizer

So it all started.....with me not finding a particular vintage image that I had printed...and wanted to use on my project. So I printed another. Only to find the original image where I should never have put it in the first place. But that's me...always squirreling things away...thinking I'll remember where. So I decided to organize my printed images into one place....and keep them safe from damage.  The base of this great little organizer is an inexpensive photo album I picked up at the local dollar store. With a few nips and tucks....I had it looking like this :

Here is a super easy tutorial so you can create one ( or 2 or 3 )of your own...
Now you'll want to finish the cover with your favorite papers. I choose to cover mine with Middy Bags then layer on some paperie goodies gifted to me by my dear friend Lisa W. She lives up North and I don't get to see her very often...I will think of her every time I use this organizer : )
For my book I choose the Olive Wrinkle Ribbon, Moss Gingham and Juliet lace.I trimmed the cover with Olive Pom Poms. You'll want to select trims for your book that coordinate with your finished cover. I think the lace adds a nice texture.
You could also use these clips to designate sections of your book....to organize even further. I'm not quite that OCD yet....but I'm working on it : )
This is definitely pretty and practical storage. I think these could work really well for die cuts. Or recipe cards that you want to be able to remove to see the back of.  I'm also thinking you could use this as a wedding or baby shower gift....just use the gift wrap on the gifts as the back of each pocket and tuck in a little note from the gift giver....maybe a few words of advice to the new bride or mom to be????
Okay...I think this may be my longest RRR post yet lol...thanks for bearing with me. You should go stretch your legs now...I know I'm going to!
I hope you all enjoy a happy and productive day and find some time to be creative : ) Huggs Ginny

Organic Flowers

Ava here, wishing you sunny skies on this Spring Sunday.
Really Reasonable Ribbon is an excellent ribbon kit club.  When I received my GDT package, I could hardly wait to open and gaze at all the textured ribbons that I ordered.  To-day I will share a short step by step tutorial on how I made my textured organic flowers for this layout.

Step # 1
Cut ribbons, cream mesh, green burlap about 3 inches in length.
Step # 2
Using a  pair of scissors or sharp tool, fray the all ends of the ribbons.  You can see in the photo above, the cut pieces and then the frayed end pieces of ribbon.
Step # 3
Cut a piece of organza ribbon about 24 inches.  The amount of ribbon you cut will determine how large of a centre you have for your flower.  Make a bow using wire to hold the centre of the bow together. You can see the bow at the back of the picture beside the green burlap band of ribbon.
Step # 4
Add a  floret  or a gem into the center of your bow.
Step # 5
Using the bow wire, thread your cream mesh ribbon piece and then the green burlap piece up against the base of your organza bow.  Shape your petals and just like magic, you have a organic flower from
Costa Rica!!!
Supplies
1.5 " Cream Mesh
.5" Burlap Woven
.58" Sheer Iridescent
Coredinations Cardstock
Helmar Glue
Dusty Attic Chipboard
Do you think the flowers complement the mono titi's velvet coat?  Oh so Costa Rican!!!

The Flowers In My Garden

It is officially SPRING!!!
And down here in Texas, it truly feels like it.
Now I know, some of you up north probably think I am saying
 "Nana Nana HA~HA"...well...you're right!
LOL>>>HA HA HA!
It feels sooooo good down here right now... the sun is shining and the
the birds are chirping and the green leaves are starting to bud.
UTTERLY GORGEOUS
(Sorry Bonnie, and Judy, and all you northerners!)

It is finally my turn to share a project for the week-long
Peechy Keen~Really Reasonable Ribbon Swap.
In honor of the Gorgeous Spring that is upon us here in Texas,
I created a little altered project that I call:
"The Flowers in my Garden"

I started with the Peechy Keen Funny Flowers and
Lady Bug stamps for this flower box.
I used water color pencils to color them in and I glazed
over the tops with crystal stickles.  I used mini
2x2 photos of my kiddos to create little "seed packets" to go in the garden, too.
All my flowers and seed packets got hot glued to lollipop sticks that I had
inked green or wrapped with green floral tape.
I gave the flowers little "bow ties" using the March Ribbon Club assortment.
I created the grass using 1.5 inch moss jute ribbon and
the soil using the 1.5 inch ivory jute ribbon.
I wrapped the whole flower box with one of my all time FAVES....
1.5 inch red gingham ribbon topped with natural hemp and and a button.

I sure hope you enjoyed my little flower garden!
Consider it my little "gift of spring" to all you up north!
Have a WONDERFUL weekend!
~Misty~

Life's Peachy Keen!

Hellllllllo peeps!   Today I get to share a little creation made for Really Reasonable Ribbon and Peachy Keen Stamps .  This week we are doing a cross promotion and it has been so much fun.  I chose to work with A Cherry On Top and Pendant Banner .  Both so very sweet and I know I will use them again and again.   I stamped the pendants and then fussy cut them out.  I then stamped my cherries and fussy cut them out.  I glittered them for fun and adhered handmade tissue garland.  I added rose petal seam binding to the ends of the banner.  Other than that, I added a few pom pom accents and my fun festive card was complete.  Hope you enjoy!  Thanks for letting me share!  Cherry

Peachy Keen Shower Peepers and Really Reasonable Ribbon~!

Good morning! Welcome to Really Reasonable Ribbon's Ramblings week long Peachy Keen Stamps showcase. It is my turn to share some fun Peachy Keen images paired with some cute trims from Really Reasonable Ribbon~!

Since it's supposed to be Spring (snow on the way to my house....), I wanted to make a fun spring card using the cute Peachy Keen Shower Peepers stamp set. Along with some adorable chicks, this set has a super cute umbrella too!
I used Jen's Deconstructed Sketch 94 for my layout. The umbrella has some sparkle along the bottom edge. I used my favorite Apple Green Mini Ric Rac and Green Apple Baker's Twine, along with some pretty Kaiser pearls for my embellishments.
We are offering a $25 Really Reasonable Ribbon Gift Certificate to one random commenter from one of the posts this week, so be sure to comment on each one between now and 3/23.
We will be announcing the winner on Monday, 3/25.
Peachy Keen Stamps will also be offering a $25 Gift Certificate to their website which will be awarded to a random commenter on their blog posts, so you have 2 chances to win!!

Thanks for stopping by today!

An Art Journaling Page

Hello friends!

Vivian here to share an art journal page with you that uses Peachy Keen Stamps and Really Reasonable Ribbon.

I've been collaging a lot as of late and very much enjoying designing in the grungy sphere.  One of the papers with words on it resonated for me.  So I chose one of my favorite fibers from the RRR shop, Metallic String, Iridescent White (I'm also nuts about the gold!), to draw the eye there.

The way this string sparkles perfectly highlights how precious today truly is.  On top of all my collaged pieces, I stamped with Peachy Keen PK-276 Flower Centers and PK-117 Picnic Tablecloth to create my composition...

And add texture...

I didn't feel like being brash with my journaling, so it's something you actually need to look for :-)

I love how easily collage can create so much texture and depth in mixed media projects.

If you're curious about the inspirations that went into the making of this page, you can visit me at my blog!
