Those Flowers have been Framed!

Sometimes I get a ribbon that I think is so beautiful, I'm not sure how to use it! I loved this scalloped green trim the moment I saw it, but I wasn't sure what I should do with it. Then, I was working on a card and it just needed something to visually define my borders. This was the perfect place to highlight this gorgeous trim! To me, it almost makes a postage stamp type frame. I just loved the results - and the good news is - we have this trim in 6 colors - Woo Hoo! The stamps I used are from Heartfelt Creations.

Bundle of Joy

Good Morning!  I hope everyone enjoyed Really Reasonable Ribbon’s Blog Hop last week Friday showcasing some fabulous projects and a chance to win some blog candy from our awesome Design Team.  Be sure to check out our newest Challenge #6 - ALOHA going on at this time until August 31st for an opportunity to win a $10.00 gift certificate to Really Reasonable Ribbon.  Your card/project must include some type of ribbon/lace/trim.

For my posting this Wednesday, I made a card for a baby shower for a friend of my daughter’s.  She’s having a boy so I decided not to add any flowers whatsoever.  Instead I used Peach Minidots, 3/8” Green/Blue Funky Vert Stripe Grosgrain and 3/4” Spring Green Plaid Ruffle by May Arts.  I love combining many types of ribbons for a completely different look.

Here is my card:

BB Isabella StrollerDigital Image:  BB Isabella Stroller from Bugaboo Stamps (colored image with Prisma color pencils and OMS).

Sentiment:  Bundle of Joy from Squigglefly.

Card Stock:  Blue and green (Colorbok – Textured Soft Pastels) and prints (K&Company – Itsy Bitsy Baby Boy).

Die-Cuts:  Nestabilities Circles/Scalloped Circles.

Inks:  Sakura Golden Star Gelly Pen (stars on sentiment) and Sakura Sky Star Gelly Pen (stroller on sentiment).

Embellishments:  Dovecraft Baby Boy Buttons from Donna’s Den of Crafts, 1/8” Peach Minidots, 3/8” Green/Blue Funky Vert Stripe Grosgrain and 3/4” Spring Green Plaid Ruffle by May Arts.  All ribbons are from Really Reasonable Ribbon.

Thanks so much for stopping by!  Have a fabulous week!

Hugs, Kym

Leafy Layout

Hi everyone!  Today I've got a fun layout to share with you.  Hopefully you've already completed our blog hop for this month (many of the DT are offering blog candy).  And we also have a new Aloha Challenge going on and more goodies up for grabs here at Really Reasonable Ribbon's Ramblings.

Now for my LO:

I'm a farm girl and these little guys are the newest addition to the barnyard.  We hatched them, 4 baby turkeys and 1 duck, in an incubator.  So for 28 days we've been carefully watching the temperature and our eggs and last Wednesday they finally hatched!  It was a big day on the farm!

So to preserve this memory I wanted to do a LO and knew the perfect trim for my page would be the fabulous Leaves trim at Really Reasonable Ribbon.  It is so beautiful and easy to work with, plus there are many different colors.  I used the moss green leaves.  I tacked it on my page with glue dots.  It is perfect for nature LO's.  Up next I used some of the elegant Mays Art Brown Crochet Lace from RRR.  Since I don't know if our little bundles of joy are boys are girls, I didn't want the page to be overly girly or boyish.

Thanks for stopping by today!  Hope I've inspired you to go create a layout and use your ribbon!

Pretty in silk

Hello!
It's my turn to post a weekly project, and this time I settled down for a good ole' bow. I realize that some of you may now say "boooring...", but this is just what I love most about ribbon! Ain't nothing like a perfect bow, and with the right ribbon it's certainly unbeatable!
Have you seen our wide selection of silk ribbon? No?? I truly recommend you to get one, and you'll fall in love instantly. Silk is soft and excellent to work with, and it has this gorgeous shimmery finish...
On my card, I used some silk ribbon in Rose.

Photobucket

Supplies: cardstock: DCWV; paper: Bella Blvd; stamp: Hero Arts, Papertrey Ink; ink: Versa Color (Fresh Green, Pinecone); Rose Silk ribbon; punch: Martha Stewart

I remember that some feedback that you left for us, about what you'd like to see in the future, was regarding the perfect bows. Have you ever wondered how to make them nice, round and "puffy"? Nothing simpler than this - just put two fingers inside each loop, once you tie the bow, and stretch them gently. That's all what the magic is about! :)
Thank you for visiting, have a lovely day!

Really Reasonable Ribbon Challenge #6

To see the winners from Challenge #5, please scroll down to the next post.

Our Challenge #6 theme is Aloha.

Here are some fun cards from our design team to get your creative juices flowing.

Cheryl uses many different styles of ribbon including white rosettes, wired edge sheer iridescent, lime leaves, silk which was used to create ribbon flowers, and some grosgrain on this sweet notebook.

Chupa made this great tropical card using 1.5" jute natural and 1/2" fuchsia wrinkled ribbon.

Erika used jute sting on this fabulous Hawaiian themed card.

Gini used several styles from our August Ribbon Club assortment on her great Aloha card.

Jacque used fuchsia silk to make a beautiful bow on her cute Hawaiian card.

Now, let's see your Aloha creations! The winner will receive a $10.00 gift certificate to Really Reasonable Ribbon.

Here's what you need to do:

* Create a new project using the posted theme. A card, layout, ATC, home dec item, hairbow, anything goes!

* All projects must also include some sort of ribbon/lace/trim.

* Post your project on your blog or an online gallery (using code RRR6) and link it here with the inlinkz tool below. Please provide a direct link to your post, not an entire blog.
