Challenge #3 Winners

What a fantastic few weeks we've had for entries into the Patriotic Theme challenge. So many great projects and the Patriotism shines through in spades. This week it was super tough choosing a top three, but we have to crack the whip, or ribbon in our case and decide.

This weeks top three in no particular order are

Mary, with her amazing ribbon pleating,

Tami with this absolutely sweet fairy,

and Stacey with this lovely combination of ribbon and lace.

Congratulations to our top 3 for a job well done. Grab your "I made the RRR Top 3" badge and display it with pride. You ladies knocked it outta the park.

Now on to the winner of our Challenge #3 Patriotic theme. You will receive a gift certificate to use at the Really Reasonable Ribbon Store.

The challenge winner is....

JAN with this amazing weaved ribbon card. Isn't it just GORGEOUS!!!

Great cards Erika! I love color but maybe my favorite combination would be blue, green with a shade of purple!
Congratulations Willow. Send me an email at taylordconcepts {at} gmail {dot} com within 48 hours and I'll send you a sampling of blue, green and purple ribbons.

Monochromatic birthday card

Hiya, I'm here today to share a quick card (and post - I'm exhausted after a 2 days long journey back home)...
This time I decided on a simple, monochromatic card, featuring one of my favourite kinds of ribbon - twill! You can find a wide selection of twill ribbon HERE in the RRR store.
On my card, i used Totally Twill in Moss Green... yummm! I didn't do anything extraordinary with it on purpose. Sometimes a little neat bow is just what the card needs :)

Photobucket

Supplies: cardstock: Quill; paper: Kaisercraft; stamp: Hero Arts; ink: Hero Arts shadow ink (Soft Leaf); pearls: Kaisercraft; ribbon: Totally Twill Moss Green; sentiment sticker: Grant; other: button, twine

I hope you like it! I'm sorry for being so brief this week... ugh!
Don't forget that you've still got time to participate in our Patriotic-themed challenge. I hope you'll play along, and you could win yourself some ribbon goodness from the store!
Have a goodie,
Iwona

A little about me

Hi everyone and happy Sunday to all of you. Recently, I've entered the Ms Scraptastic 2010 contest and our second challenge was to do a layout "All about Me". Now as most of you know, I'm a card maker/paper crafter by nature, so layouts are not my forte. With that being said, there is something about pushing your creative limits and I really enjoyed this challenge.

For this layout, I've used the 7/8" Dotted Satin ribbon, which is on sale right now at 25% off. This ribbon is absolutely stunning and is so nice to work with.

I twisted the ribbon on each side of the layout to give it a little dimension and love how it finishes off the layout. Polka Dots of any kind are one of my favorite things, and Really Reasonable Ribbon has an entire section dedicated to them. Talk about shopping heaven {sigh}.

Here is the layout for you. Hope you enjoy.

Don't forget that we have our Design Team Blog Hop on July 13th, so make sure you stop by to see some fantastic creations by our Design Team. It is always such a treat to see what they come up with. Talk about a super talented group of artists.

Until next time
Toodles

"Purrr-fect bird-day!" With Organza

Hello All!
True :D here.
I just about forgot my Saturday post for Really Reasonable Ribbon! I am in the middle of a garage sale this weekend and have been crazy busy! The card has been done for some time. I submitted it for a special project book that I am a part of, but it was not accepted. OK, everybody all at once say....awwwwww. It is OK though because 5 others were! woot woot! I can't wait until I can give you more details!
All evening long I kept thinking that I was forgetting something. Sure enough...when it was time to hit the hay...it came to me!
Luckily, pictures had been taken and watermarks loaded! I even had a card recipe already done! LOL!
I used the adorable "Inky Antics" stamp called "Kitty Pair Square".

It was colored with watercolors then cut out and popped a few times for added dimension.
The DP is from Basic Grey's "Sugar Rush" and that pretty green cardstock is The Paper Temptress's "Spring Larch" glimmer paper.
The finishing touch is of course that beautiful organza from Really Reasonable Ribbon! I used mauve and aqua, both in 5/8" width.
My tip for today is to use 2 different colors of organza together for ting a bow. I just love the effect it gives!
Click on any picture for a better view.

Card Recipe:
STAMPS USED: Inky Anticks #0781F "Kitty Pair Square"
CS/PAPERS: Basic Grey's - Sugar Rush "Big Cherry", The Paper Temptress's: Neenah Solar White, Spring Larch Glimmer
INK: Staz-On - Jet Black, Versa Magic dew drops in Oasis Green and Malted Mauve
ACCENTS/TOOLS: Ribbon: organza ribbon in Mauve and Aqua from Really Reasonable Ribbon, All Sorts of Things matte brads by Lasting Impressions in Seaside #34469, Wizard with square and scalloped square and rectangle Nestabilities, sewing machine with pink thread, computer and printer for sentiment, Stampin' Up's Crystal Effects, foam tape, glue, piercing tool
COLORING: KOH-I-NOOR Watercolor Wheel Stack
TECHNIQUES USED: Stamping, water coloring, sewing, 3D, tole'
SKILL LEVEL: Medium
Better get off of here for now....It is past my bedtime!
Headed for auto post now! ;)
Hugs,
True :D
