Altered wooden bag or make a $1 piece an altered beauty

Hello, my dear crafty friends!
My name is Irit Shalom and I'm thrilled to be the Really Reasonable Ribbon  guest designer for January.
As a shabby/vintage artist who adores altering, my first project is an altered wooden bag you can buy in any $1 store, maybe even 2 pieces for $1. It came with this ugly green ribbon as its handle and fortunately the holes were big enough to add different pretty handles after all.

First I covered it with Bo Bunny patterned papers and it was very easy as you just need a few straight cuts. Then I added a strip of 1.5'' Jute Ribbon Natural (almost not seen after all) and tied a piece of Burlap Woven Ribbon Ivory trim around the box.

A piece of Black Crochet lace was glued over the front part and now for the fun: my ribbon flowers!

I made two of them. The first was done with Sheer Ruffle Edge Aqua trim, stitched and pulled to make this fancy flower. I added a small ribbon flower I made ages ago from an unknown blue satin ribbon.

My second flower was made with 1.5'' Champagne Netting base, stitched and pulled to make this flower base. The white flower was made with Cheer Box Pleats White ribbon and there was no sewing, I just glued it to make the circle. The flower center here is Prima center.

I also added 3 resin small flowers on the top to add a bit more colors as this project was almost monochromatic.

The handles were made with Jute Ribbon Natural trim and secured with very old brads (great way to use 4 of them as we all have a lot and never use any).

This box can be used as another gift packaging or even as a gift itself.

Hope you liked my project for today and see you next time with more crafty ribbon projects!
