Yippee it's the weekend!

And there are birds EVERYWHERE at my place! Spring is finally here, flowers are blooming and the birds are playing. I made this card using the orange swirl and the white silk ribbons from Really Reasonable Ribbon. I also managed to find an awesome use for the Frosted Dream brads (love 'em!), and I used my new Sizzix die from the Tim Holtz recent release. The label punch in the middle is from McGill, the patterned cardstock is from K&Company and the solid orange is from Club Stamp. Enjoy and yippee (no company name on the yippee stamp, sorry), it's Friday! :)Debbie

Happy Thursday Everyone. Today is a Rainy Spring day here is Southern Saskatchewan. Great for the flowers and foliage. I've got a few tulips that are blooming and just love it. My little girl sooooo wants to pick the 2 blooms that are out haha.

Today I'm sharing with you one of my favorite cards I've made to date with Really Reasonable Ribbon. I paired the Sheer Looped white trim and the Swirls Red Organza and i just love the outcome. I also used another button from the Twilight Inspired Chipboard Button set to finish it off. I really wanted to focus on the ribbon for this card and I think it works so well

Here is a close up for you to see the weaving of the White Sheer Loop through the Spellbinders dies.

The cardstock is from Paper Temptress and the patterned paper is Bo Bunny. Lastly I inked up a piece of Technique Tuesday chipboard with Distress Inks and finished it up with a rub-on and some more of that beautiful Swirls Red Organza. Purdy Purdy isn't it.

This past Saturday I hosted Digi-Day – Marching with the Troops at The Stamping Boutique which is very dear and close to my heart. I had the wonderful opportunity to use many styles of Really Reasonable Ribbon to showcase my cards. As many as you know, my son, Travis, who is a US Marine is currently deployed in Afghanistan. So, this event was in honor of him and all the other men and women who are deployed at this time. I hope you enjoy my cards and like the variation of ribbons I used from Really Reasonable Ribbon.

Here are my cards:

First Card

Lovely Lace....

If you're looking for a quick and easy way to add a vintage or elegant touch to your creations, Really Reasonable Ribbon now carries a gorgeous Crochet Lace style in white, ivory, coral, pink and brown (it's in the Trims/Lace category). I used the coral (awesome color that may look bright pink on your monitor...it does on mine, but it's a soft, peachy color!). It added just that little extra bit of texture and elegance on this card I recently sent to my sister for her birthday. I'm afraid I can't give you the credits because I had challenged myself to use up some bits and pieces I had left from other projects. I should have saved the original brand names; sorry! April Ribbon Club card

Hello Everyone and happy Thursday. While I was outside yesterday I noticed that the tulips are starting to bloom and found a Robin's Nest. How sweet is that.
When I received my ribbon club assortment from Really Reasonable Ribbon this month, I knew that I had to create an inspiration piece. Something that really shows the Patriotic colors in this kit. The Blue Bandana grosgrain ribbon just begged to be used, so my mojo was running. Then I received some of these AMAZING chipboard buttons we now carry in the store. I used the glitter red button from the Twilight package. Yes I'll admit it, I'm a Twilight Junkie.

Here is the card I created.

Happy Birthday with Bling!

I really like the new "bling" that's available in the embellishments category at Really Reasonable Ribbon, and Bonnie gave me some to play with this weekend. I used the Spring Medley Blue embellishments, along with the Swirls Turquoise ribbon to make this card. The birthday stamp is from Inkadinkadoo, the flourishes stamps I used to make the background print on the smaller rectangle are from Prima and the printed background paper is from Basic Grey. Note: I did add some rhinestones and pearls to the centers of the flowers (from my "stash, not sure of the brands!). Enjoy, and if it's your birthday, hope it's a good one. :) Debbie

Wine Jute Ribbon and Moss Green w/White Stitched Edge Grosgrain Ribbon

Hello Everyone!

I was finally able to create a card using some of the really fun new jute ribbon. I love how easy it is to use and the effect you get from this type of ribbon. The ribbon comes in 5 spectacular solid colors (Natural, Orange, Wine, Spring Green and Hunter) and 2 stripe colors (Green/Pink and Turquoise/White).

I also used Moss Green w/White Stitched Edge Grosgrain ribbon. This ribbon comes in many various colors and styles of Stitched Edges. The combining of both ribbons gave my card even more of a country feel than I was hoping to accomplished to go with the farm scene images.

Sisterhood of the Traveling Stamp Set

Hello Everyone and Happy Wednesday to you all. A few weeks ago I received a stamp set from a friend who is a part of the My Stamp Box design team. This stamp set is travelling from crafter to crafter and I just had to share with you the card that I made using the stamp set and some beautiful Really Reasonable Ribbon.

The set is a birthday stamp set which is full of balloons. Whodda thunk you could make a flower out of balloons!

I used Old Gold and Aqua satin on the card, that I tied in a plain knot. I love these two ribbon colors together.

Try some unexpected color combinations when you layer your ribbon. It can really bring a project together.

How about some posh Plaid Ruffle ribbon?

Isn't this elastic plaid ruffle ribbon fantastic? I made the flower by gathering a short length of the ribbon and tacking it to itself at the bottom. Since it's elastic it also easily stretched vertically around the card (I used the lavender and the bright pink and just taped it on the back). The sticker is from daisyd's (website not functioning at this time) and the background paper is from Papertrey Ink. One of these days I'll figure out how to get a GOOD picture with my camera; in the meantime, I hope you like this less-than-stellar photo of my card. :) Debbie

Hi everyone! How happy was I when I found Bonnie is carrying this great Rainbow Peace Ribbon (in two widths)??? I had already purchased the Reminisce printed paper with the peace sign design and the Catslife Press stamp (used for the button in the center of the bow), but to find Bonnie had the ribbon in the Really Reasonable Ribbon store just put the icing on the cake! Have a peaceful weekend...

Double Ruffles, Multi Stripe Grosgrain and Silk Ribbon

Happy Friday!

Hope everyone is having a wonderful week so far. I wanted to show you all 2 cards that I have created using 3 different types of ribbon. The first card I used was Light Blue Double Ruffles. This ribbon is very stretchy and easy to work with. I love how well you are able to make a bow with it. There are many different colors to choose from: Bright Pink, Red, Lime, Green, Light Blue, Lavender, Purple, Dark Brown and Black. The ribbon is 5/8” wide.

Digital Image: Cammi and Sew Glad We Are Friends! from March Bonus at Sew Many Cards (Colored image with Prisma color pencils and OMS, cut image out and popped up with 3D foam dots).

Card Stock: Green (TAC), dark blue (Basic Occasions) and prints (DCWV-The Garden Party).

Embellishments: 2 blue and 1 brown buttons and Light Blue Double Ruffles Ribbon (Really Reasonable Ribbon).

The next 2 ribbons I used on my card are Pink/Lavender/Light Blue Multi Stripe Grosgrain and Fuchsia Silk Ribbons. There is a wide variety of Multi Stripe Grosgrain Ribbons. This ribbon is 3/8” wide. The Silk Ribbons come in many different colors: White, Champagne, Yellow, Old Gold, Red, Pink, Lavender, Celery Green, Moss, Light Blue and Navy. Some of the colors can be purchased in 1/4” wide while all of them are available in 1 1/4” wide. The Silk Ribbons are by May Arts.

Layering your Ribbons

Happy Thursday Everyone.

Where do you get your inspiration to create from? Art? Emotion? Your jewelry box? Today I'm sharing with you a card that really reminds me of a piece of turquoise jewelry I have. I usually start creating a project from the base up, but this one started from the top. I was inspired by this great Heart Swirl from Magistical Memories and decided to emboss it using pewter and turquoise sparkle embossing powders. Finding the perfect ribbons to match was NO problem since Really Reasonable Ribbon has every shade, color and texture of ribbon under the sun.

For this card I used the Ivory 5/8" Grosgrain ribbon and sprayed it with Olive Glimmer Mist 4 times for deep saturation. Then I layered 1/4" Aqua Satin ribbon on top. I just love the look of these two colors together.

What a great way to add that little bit of extra color on a project. Stop on over to the Really Reasonable Ribbon store and take a look around. There are so many new products including some great embellishments.

Ruffle Butterflies

Hello Everyone and Happy Wednesday to all of you. Spring is definitely popping up all over and with spring comes blooms. And we all know, when everything starts blooming, the butterflies are quick to follow. Today we have an absolutely sweet as honey card to share that comes from Debbie Littlejohn. This girl sure knows how to make spring come to life in a card.

What a great combination of spring colors and amazing ribbon. This ribbon is the Double Ruffle Ribbon (shown in white) and it is available in 12 colors. The edges have the sweetest gingham highlight and it can be used for so many things. The perfect addition to a perfect card. Try your hand at putting some of this Double Ruffle Ribbon on your next project. I can see some amazing handmade flowers created with this style.

A Little Fishing Tackle Box All Wrapped Up

Hello Everyone and Happy Thursday to you. Today I've got a cute little gift idea for that little fisherman in your life. I had a small tackle box that needed a new home, so I gift wrapped it up with a "Dream Big" sentiment. The ribbon is the wonderful new Gingham 1.5" in green, which I LOVE LOVE LOVE. I also used a little 1/4" Jungle Green Satin to finish it off.

A sweet way to really make a gift personal. Try your hand at gift wrapping with ribbon. You'll love the end result.
