Magnets For Mom Card

 Hello and Happy Wednesday!
Misty (@Mommyofkidz) here with you sharing a cute and functional card.
Not only does this card scream "Spring" beauty all over it,
it also holds secret refrigerator magnets for holding small notes, photos, or mementos.

I started with some mini clothespins and some
15mm Mulberry flowers from Really Reasonable Ribbon.
I also ended up using some Light Satin Coral Silk ribbon
that I had not originally planned to use. I decided to
toss in a tiny bow at the last minute for a bit more "flair". :)

For the refrigerator magnets, I simply glued two of the mulberry roses to a clothespin.  On the backside, I glued tiny magnets that I picked up at Amazon.
I used a cardstock sticker from a Simple Stories collection that I mounted onto thicker cardstock and then popped it up with 3 layers of craft foam.  I used 3 layers in order to give it the lift it would need for the magnets to be able to easily clip to the center to form the "flower"

Finally, I added the bow and then the sentiment on the inside of the gatefold card.  I chose this sentiment because the intention of the card is for the recipient to post the mementos that are close to their heart.
While the card that I made is for my Mom, it can easily be for any special person in your life.
See...my Mom had a stroke last June, and has lost a large amount of memory.  The doctors said that it is mostly written and verbal language that she would not remember. However, we ha
ve found that her  memory of people and events has also been affected. The most effective way that I have found to help her memory return and remember the people is by showing her photographs.
She does not pull out albums, as she quite honestly doesn't think to do it.
However, I found a way to keep photos in front of her at all times.
I made some pretty magnets to hold snapshots of all the people that she is still struggling to remember. They can co on the fridge, the mirror in her bathroom, the shelf by her washing machine, etc.

There truly are so many beautiful reasons to be happy.
By giving this to my Mom, along with photos to hang,
I hope that she will remember this.  And, hopefully, begin remember the loved ones that her mind has not been able to yet.  Also, it will hopefully inspire you to create something beautiful for someone who may need a gentle reminder of how loved they are, and how beautiful life truly is.
Thank you for stopping by today!
Hop on over the the Really Reasonable Ribbon store and fill your basket with some gorgeous goodies for your next ribbon project!
