Miracles Can Happen Note Pad

I hope you all had a wonderful holiday weekend and are rested and ready to do something crafty this week!  Today I have a fun and easy project to share that used lots of natural fibers and ribbons from the Really Reasonable Ribbon shop.

I have lots of these notepads that I pick up from the Dollar Store so I thought that I would create a wrap for one of them and then decorate it with some of my favorite things.  I love the colors and it was really fun to layer all the goodies.  and...  If you read on I am going to walk you through it so you can do one too.

First you are going to need these things that I have above from the RRR shop: Jute Ribbon, Cream Mesh RibbonBurlap String in Ivory, Juliet Crochet Lace, and a little bit of Ivory Tulle for the flower on the front.

You will also need brown ink, stamp, metal findings, adhesive, kraft paper, patterned paper, feathers and
a brown fine line pen to make faux stitching and a Scor-Pad of some kind to create the wrap around it.

So to start, you are going to lay the book on your 8 1/2 x 11 piece of kraft paper and create a pattern by folding and cutting the paper the way that you would like it to wrap around.  Mine has a bottom that folds up and 2 flaps that fold over each other in the front.

After i get the pattern done the way I want it, I cut and score a new piece of kraft paper that will fit perfect over the pad.  (Remember sizes will vary for this).

Next you can cut pieces of paper to cover the top and sides and glue them on your book.  Also cut pieces of the matching papers to make a flower.  I used Spellbinders Rose Creations die set for mine.

Wrap the creme mesh ribbon around the bottom and then add layers of the lace and jute to secure it.  You can also add metal embellishments too.

For the flower I gathered the ivory tulle and made a small rosette to go under my flower and also made leaves by cutting the jute ribbon and adding that under the flower too.  I think all the beautiful textures of the ribbons and natural fibers really work well together.

To finish my project I stamped the image with brown archival ink and then cut it out and added some chalk ink around the edges.  This I put over a kraft tag that I made and slid in under the wrap that I put around it and added a pretty feather and a few flowers.  And just to make it match I added a small piece of paper over the top of the paper pad to match the pretty jacket I did.

I hope you like it and have a chance to do some for maybe the teachers or friends that you want to say thanks for just being in my life :)

Have a wonderful week... Teresa
