Distressed Sympathy Card

Hello friends of RRR!  Today I have a quick card to share with you that I made for a friend of the family using one of the beautiful ribbons in this month's Ribbon Club Assortment.  I hate having to make cards like this, which is probably the reason I don't have any in my stash.

And here's a close-up of that distressed ribbon treatment:
To make my big, fluffy bow I used my Bow it All Tool from Zutter .  I made my bow with 4 loops in the back at 3" and with 3 loops in the front at 2".

To make my card cohesive and a little more distressed, I used some gold Adirondack Paint.  I just globbed a little on my finger and went over a few of the edges of everything, adding an extra "glob" here and there just to give it a little more texture.
I generally would use white or cream paint to do this, but since I was going for a bit of a more masculine feel, I decided to try the gold paint.  I do like the way that it turned out.  Quite the old vintage feel on this one.
RRR Products Used:

Checkerboard Satin Turftan Brown
 1.5" Champagne Netting
WOC Open Roses

Thanks for stopping by!  Be sure to come back tomorrow for some more Ribbon-filled inspiration!

  1. It is never fun to make sympathy cards. However, your card is beautiful and I bet your friend appreciated it.

    I really like your bow!
