Chocolate Pocket Christmas Card for RRR

Hello Ribbon Lovers everywhere! It's Kathy from Kathy by Design. Are you frantically getting ready for Christmas? I can't believe that we are just 2 short weeks away from Christmas Eve! If you are like me, you are looking for fun, last minute ideas for gift giving that come together quickly but still look great. It seems to me that giving a gift card or a cash gift has become a popular trend at Christmas time. But you want to dress up the presentation, don't you? I know I do! With that in mind, I created this practical and pretty Chocolate Pocket Christmas Card featuring beautiful natural fibers and flowers from Really Reasonable Ribbon.

I started with a 5" x 7" card base and added some oldie but goodie papers from Graphic 45's Christmas Past and Christmas Emporium collections. I added a border of 1.5" natural jute ribbon at the base of the card along with some delightfully vintage Chloe Natural Crochet Lace.

Just above the border, I added a tiny kraft bag that I filled with a message tag and a wrapped Ghiradelli chocolate. This make a great vehicle for a gift card: you can tuck that right into the bag as well. (But it makes a nice co-worker or teacher gift just as it is.) I wrapped metallic gold string around the base of the bag, added a loopy bow and topped it off with a Christmas red 25mm Cottage Rose. Chloe Natural Crochet Lace was added to the top of the bag, and another piece of the 1.5" wide jute string was run around the middle.

Santa was fussy cut and then coated with Versamark and UTEE. He was mounted with foam tape so he just pops off the front of the card. To his left, I added more natural fibers with a bow made from natural jute string. I topped this with more gold metallic string and another Cottage Rose. I love the contrast between the jute string and the shiny gold metallic string.

The tag in the chocolate pocket is tied at the top with more metallic gold string and is topped with another Christmas rose. I found the gold string was so easy to work with: no fraying, nice and flexible, but it holds its shape well. It made such pretty bows, too!

The inside of the card uses more of the G45 vintage papers and another touch of Chloe Natural Crochet Lace. There's room to write a personal message on the inner tag.

Cheerio,
