from ribbon to fabric...

Andrea here...Let's take some ribbon and turn it into some fabric with a little basket weaving, fabric stiffener and your favorite die cut shape. I love finding new techniques and products when it comes to fabric and ribbon. After using stiffener on several fabric projects I thought...why not use it on ribbon. So here we go in just a few simple steps.
I used light blue seam binding and pink jute string for this project.

1. Begin with several pieces of ribbon, cut approximately the same size and enough for the die cut you will be using.2. Combine fabric stiffener and a little water in a small container and mix well.

3. Submerge each piece in the mixture, run fingers along to remove excess and begin a basket weaving technique. Make sure to assemble this on wax paper or a plastic sheet/bag for easy removal once dry and to protect other surfaces.4. Allow to completely dry then die cut into desired shape. Thank you "berry" much for joining me here and maybe fabric stiffener will be a part of your next ribbon project?

Have a fantastic day!

Andrea
