Goth Edgar Allan Poe inspired Halloween card by Cherry Nelson

Hello RRR peeps!  Cherry here to share a oh so spooky card with you today.  I went out of my comfort zone a bit with this card.  I found my inner "Goth girl".  I have to say it was pretty fun.  I love Edgar Allan Poe so maybe it is not such a stretch.  I love old spooky movies too.  

 I added lots of fun details...got out my jewelry making stash and wound some fun purple glass beads with a bat charm and wound them through my wreath.

 I used a fun technique that I kinda just messed around with.  I used Prima silver gel texture paste and wiped it onto my watercolor paper rather haphazardly ..it crackled a bit leaving exposed color underneath.  I than diecut the paper and created florals.  It created almost a zebra effect on the paper. 

I mixed all my florals and a few with Foamirian and mixed them in with some RRR florals for lots of texture.

Masculine Milestone Birthday Card

 

Hello, Friends!  Here's a whimsical masculine milestone birthday card that I made for our youngest son's upcoming birthday.  Since it's fall, I wanted to use warm fall colors.  Because it's his 30th, I wanted to work with a fun theme.  So I paired up Brown and Cream Gingham Ribbon with patterns and an image from Authentique Paper's Masquerade collection.  I think a party on the crescent moon in top hats and tails is worthy of a 30th birthday celebration, don' t you?

The ribbon color flows well with the copper foil die cut accents and the orange hues of this Halloween collection.  Unlike my usual "poufy" bows, this plaid bow is topped simply with a button that reminds me of a cuff link.

TIP: Fussy cut the image twice, then layer together with foam adhesive sandwiched between.  This creates lots of dimension and makes the focal image pop.

Thankful card

Hello everyone and Happy Friday to you all! Today's card was designed for Really Reasonable Ribbon using the Beautiful Ribbons & Chrysanthemum from the RRR store. I Love working with the fall colors even though I dont want summer to end. Hoping to keep the warmth just a little longer.

On my card I started with lots of layers, and stamped my images from Makers Movement on the top layer, and then dusted orange , Yellow, and Green over the sentiment and flower stamp. I then added stickles to the centers of the flowers and in other spots as well. My ribbon choices were Brown Satin double faced, and the Moss and Cream Plaid ribbon for my bows. I then took the cream colored Chrysanthemum and airbrushed it using copic markers and my air compressor , and added stickles to the center. All layers of my card have sewing and white gel pen dots.

Halloween TREAT Pocket

Welcome back to the Really Reasonable Ribbon Blog, everyone!  It's Karen here today.  Having you stop by is always such a treat for us, so I thought I'd share an actual "treat" with you all today.  Really Reasonable Ribbon always has the perfect ribbons, trims, twines and everything we need to create something fun.  I hope you'll stop by Really Reasonable Ribbon to look around.  Here's the treat I created to share with you.

I used a polka dot paper bag that I folded in half.  I added a piece of spider patterned paper, and I machine stitched the sides; leaving the top open to create a pocket.  In the back of the bag, I tucked in a couple of fun Halloween tags that I topped with some Black & White Houndstooth Ribbon and a snippet of Orange Plaid Ribbon With Black Stitching.  The Orange Plaid Ribbon With Black Stitching can be found as an individual trim through this link in various widths, and also in this month's Ribbon Club Assortment.

On the front of the pocket, I ran a width of the  Orange Plaid Ribbon With Black Stitching and tied a bow with that, 3/8" Black & White Gingham as well as a length of Black Seam Binding.  I also bundled up some Orange Burlap String and Black Burlap String that I placed underneath the bow, and I tucked in several Black Double Head Mini Stamens....because they're adorable!

Of course....the TREAT part are the mini Hershey's chocolate bars that I tucked in the pocket.  Yum!  I don't know which is yummier, actually.  The chocolate....or all the delicious products from Really Reasonable Ribbon.  They're both pretty awesome.  I say "ALL of the above".  (LOL)   I also used a plastic candy tube that I filled with Halloween colored candy-coated chocolates.  I topped that tube with the same trims listed above.  You'll always find everything you need to adorn your projects when shopping at Really Reasonable Ribbon.  There's just SO much to see.  Why not TREAT yourself?

Hello Fall Owl Card by Cherry Nelson

Hello RRR peeps!  Cherry here to share a cutie card with you today.  I have always been smitten with owls, foxes,....and woodland creatures in general.  I would love to own a hedgehog..but that's another story.  So when I found these wood chip diecuts I fell in love. This little guy is saying "hello Fall" among all sorts of pretty florals.  

I used lots of pretty florals that I created using water color papers and a few with Foamirian and mixed them in with some RRR florals for lots of texture.   

I always love to add in unique berries, leaves, etc.  I also added some fun little stamped details that I diecut out.

Well friends, this will be it for me.  I got to go off and finish packing what is left of our house contents.  At 5:00 we are leaving our home of 17 years.  To say it is emotional is an understatement. Keep on crafting friends!  Scroll down for RRR supplies used.

You don't really see me! You see me peaking through my fingers that are hiding my face! I have made several cards in the last week and the scraps are the things left behind on my desk. My craft area is a part of our master bedroom which is also now where my hubby teaches his college classes remotely...NO, he uses a virtual background so there is some privacy when he's teaching. All said I have to snatch bits of time to craft so nothing is getting picked up. LOL...it really is rather Halloween"ish". Fits right in with this new release but I dare say the new ribbon is waaaaaaay more adorable! Thanks for all the inspiration :)

Boo-tiful Halloween Banner

Hello, Friends!  Kathy here with a Boo-tiful Halloween banner made with spooktacular ribbons and trims. The September Ribbon Club Assortment is all about Halloween, which makes me as happy as can be! 

Each pennant is stitched to a long piece of 1 1/2" Black Silky Crush Ribbon. Then I created bow clusters with Halloween Gingham Ribbon on each end of the banner.

Stitch orange ric rac across the top of the banner to add a pop of color and texture.  Then tie long pieces of the Halloween Geometric print between the pennants.  I just tied a simple square knot, then topped with a burlap string bow and button.

Trick or Treat Card

 

Hello everyone and Happy Friday to you all! Today I have this super cute Trick or Treat card I made for Makers Movement & Really Reasonable Ribbon using their supplies. 

For my card today I chose to use this darling Shaker Trick or Treat stamp and die set from My Makers Movement. Love how easy they are to use, as this came together quickly. The inside of my card was done using the stamps from this same set, and the tag from the nested square tag set all from My Makers Movement. 

The design papers I chose are from the 6 x 6 Halloween paper stacks from Pebbles and AC. I did 3 layers using coordinating design papers, and then the last layer was distressed using ink and a duster. I thought this month's Really Reasonable Ribbon assortment would look supper cute used as a double bow with a sweetheart blossom in the center. I did dust the flower with black ink and added orange Stickles to the center. All layers were put together using scotch advanced tape, and foam tabs.

Love Potion

Hello to all our ribbon-loving creative friends, and thanks for stopping by today.  Today I'm sharing a fun card and witch's hat that I created using some awesome products from Really Reasonable Ribbon.  It's always SO much fun using their products; and they always have exactly what we need for every project.

I started with a fun card that uses a black cardstock base and some Crate Paper patterned papers that I machine stitched together.  I laid a width of the Orange Plaid Ribbon With Black Stitching across my card.  This awesome trim is included in this month's Ribbon Club Assortment, and can also be purchased individually in several different widths.  Such is the case with most of the ribbons carried at Really Reasonable Ribbon.

I added a cute Halloween journaling card, some wooden arrows that I painted black, a tea-stained doily, a Jolee's glittery spider and some metal hardware.  Next, I bundled up some knotted Orange Burlap String and topped that with a pretty bow that's tied with lengths of Black and White Gingham (another trim that comes in various widths).

I also decorated a cute little witch's hat.  It's so fun, and I was thinking about possibly using them (there were 12 in the set) as cupcake toppers.  There's Orange Satin Ribbon wrapped around the hat, and there's also an Orange Open End Rose and a Black Open End Rose on the side.  How cute and fun!  We hope you'll stop by Really Reasonable Ribbon often for loads of inspiration, a fun Blog Hop on the 13th of every month, special sales, and great shopping 365 days of the year.  You'll find all things RIBBON and SO much more.

I love the Light Gray Wrinkle Ribbon paired with the classic black and white buffalo plaid.

It's especially sweet when accented with purple. One of the most under rated colors in the crafty world in my humble opinion.
