Stitched Sheer/Satin Ombre Light Blue
You'll just love the wonderful selection of other beautiful ribbon, products, awesome prices, fast shipping and great customer service!  This beautiful ribbon comes in three other colors and only 30 cents a yard. I love the gorgeous shine and the delicate white stitch in this ribbon.  I made the bow using the easy-to-use Bow-it-All v2.0 which was purchased at Really Reasonable Ribbon.   Behind the beautiful blue ribbon is the 1.5" white netting ribbon which comes in a variety of colors.  I added some blue Stickles glitter glue on parts of the white netting to accent the area.

Also, Really Reasonable Ribbon has the Wild Orchid Craft flowers.  I used the Wild Orchid Craft Open White Rose size 15mm. throughout this card.   I made my own angel pin attached to the blue ribbon.

A Pumpkin Shaped Card with Shabby Bow

Hello, all of you ribbon lovers!

Today I have a cute pumpkin shaped card to share with all of you. It's actually part of a gift set. I'll be sharing the other portion with all of you next week.

My husband and sons will quickly agree with me when I tell you that I save even the smallest ribbon snippets. (I save LOTS of neat things to use on my projects, but that would be enough for another post entirely! grins!)

Have you ever cut the tail from one side of a bow that was just a smidge too long?  Yes, I save those. Or maybe you have a piece a few inches long from the beloved piece of crochet trim that started out many yards long, but you've been using portions and parts on specials projects.

I keep all of those pieces on my craft desk so that they can come to life again in what can easily be called 'shabby bows'.  Just gather the small pieces and tie them into your bow.  It's so easy to do, but adds such a pretty, shabby chic look to your project!
Here I have used the Autumn Diagonal Stripe Grosgrain to tie pieces of  Silky Crush Olive ribbon and Tangerine Shimmer Satin with Gold.  I also added a variety of flowers by Wild Orchid Crafts - cosmos, 10mm open roses, and 15 mm open roses.

You can find more information about this card on my blog, "Just Coffee Please..."

Thank you so much for stopping by! I'll see you next week with the rest of this gift set. :)

Santa Claus is Coming to Town

Hello, Ribbon Lovers!  I'm not trying to rush the season or anything, but here we are past the half way point in November, and Christmas is creeping up on us. It's definitely time for this gal to get busy with Christmas projects!  How about you?   I had an idea for an interactive Christmas frame the other day...and it involves a pocket, and custom dyed seam binding. Wanna take a peek?

I picked up this pretty white frame at a yard sale earlier this year, and have been saving it for just the right project.  I sat down the other day and had a blast building all kinds of layers, fussy cutting retro images, altering chipboard and all sorts of messy fun.

The cloth pocket in this frame really opens, and I thought how awesome would it be to tuck a tiny gift inside each day during the month of December?  It could be a movie ticket, an individually wrapped chocolate, a cocoa pouch, tea bag, a note...any little bitty treat to add a sense of excitement and anticipation to the month of December.

My little bottle brush tree was too green for this assemblage, so I painted it white and then added clusters of sparkly gold bead and berry clusters (out of stock at the moment, but Bonnie will replenish as soon as she can) to the tree base along with deep red gypsophila blossoms. I just love seeing the giant Christmas trees in the mall....you know, the ones that are banked with poinsettias.  That's the look I was going for here.

When it came time to make the bow, I decided to custom color some white seam binding. In case you've never done this,  I put together a quick step out tutorial for you.
Cut a 1 yard length of white seam binding, and crumple it up a little.
Choose two colors of Distress Markers to color the seam binding.  I used Pine Needles and Festive Berries to go along with my Christmas theme.
I used the broad nib on the marker and drew a green line on the bottom of the ribbon, then used the Festive Berries to make a red line on the opposite side, leaving a wide white strip down the middle.
Lightly spritz the marker with water and let the colors wick for a minute.  Then dry with a heat gun.  Don't crumple the ribbon until the ink is nearly dry, or the colors will bleed into one another and you will lose the striped effect.
Use your Zutter Bow-it-All tool to tie a multi loop bow and then top it with red, green and gold jingle bells to make everything fun and festive.

Seam binding is a wonderful item to have in your ribbon stash, because in just a few seconds, you can customize it to work with any project.  And, it's very easy to tie into a fancy bow.  Bonnie sells it in 100 yard spools for just $15.99.  That's a whole lot of ribbony goodness for not a lot of money!

Hope you enjoyed this little tutorial.  If so, let me know in the comment section below, and I'll try to throw more of these your way in coming posts.

Thanks for stopping by!

Cheerio,
kathy

Merry..

Hope wherever you are my friends, you are having a wonderful relaxing Sunday.  My heart also wants to say stay safe.   With the recent tragedy in France it makes one feel vulnerable and sad.  My thoughts and prayers are with them right now.  I could not write this post with out mentioning that.

I hope in some small way my post makes you smile.  With all the world's trials and tribulations I can't help but hole away in my craft room sometimes to create.  I know many of you do the same, creating is your refuge.  Today's creation was made for RRR  of course.   Not unlike the nativity ornament ..this one uses a mason jar lid again.  This time I spray painted it and lightly distressed it.  I backed it with papers from October Afternoon.  I fussy cut my old card image to really bring it to life and backed it with thick foam adhesive.  From there I added sprigs of berries, a little flair button, lots of faux snow, and some cute poinsettia stickers from Jolees.  I topped the lid off with lipstick red seam binding and plaid ribbon in red .   Well that is it for me today.  Enjoy!  hugs, cherry

Happy Thanksgiving

Hi there crafty peeps!  I am back today with a fall card perfect for Thanksgiving.  I used a stamp set from Fun Stampers Journey and ribbons from Really Reasonable Ribbon

I created a gold embossed background with the Playful Leaves background stamp and matted it onto Candy Apple cardstock.  I stamped two leaves with the Autumn Time stamp set.  I colored them with several colors of ink and glazed them with Journey Glaze.  I stamped the sentiment onto a die cut pierced circle and mounted all of that onto the card base.  I added some sequins for some sparkle.
The ribbons I used for the card were Tangerine Satin Swirls Ribbon and Tangerine Diamond Satin Ribbon.  I hope you enjoy my project.  Have a wonderful weekend!
