PLEASE consider turning off your word verification.
It would be a great help to us if you would consider turning off your word verification if it's active on your blog. To do this is really easy and all you need to do is go to Customize > Settings > Comments > then scroll down to where it says comment moderation and select always (this won't stop anybody leaving you a comment but they won't show on your blog until you approve them). Then scroll down to show word verification for comments? and select No.
We love to visit your blogs and leave comments on all the terrific entries, but the word verification really slows us down. :o)

Thanksgiving Cards with Pockets

Hello, Ribbon Lovers!

It's the beginning of a new month, and that means I get so share some fun projects and beautiful ribbons from the fantastic new November Ribbon Club Assortment. Oooooo....shiny!

https://scontent-iad3-1.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-xpf1/v/l/t1.0-9/12108745_987200781331941_8800658179296827080_n.jpg?oh=1bbf0c37b518d51511ced015c81ea39b&oe=56BC393A

The month of November means Thanksgiving Day here in the US, and I do love me some Thanksgiving!  Everything about this holiday makes me happy: the weather, the food, the time with family, the colors and fantastic memories of past Thanksgivings.  With all these things in mind, I dug into these glamorous Silver and Gold ribbons and worked up a couple of Thanksgiving cards.  Now, I know this collection is great for Christmas, but I found that the gold ribbons are fabulous for your Thanksgiving crafts, too.  Take a peeky:
This first card is a 5" x 7" top fold card.  I found the cute vintage Thanksgiving image online, and stitched it up with beautiful papers that I had in my stash.  The bow is made with sumptuous Old Gold Shimmer Satin and luxurious Old Gold Crosshatch Satin ribbons.  I topped these with a Petaloo flower and tucked in some die cut leaves and eucalyptus leaves to finish the bow treatment. But the real fun in this card is on the inside:

I created a pocket on the inside, wrote a little poem for the top half of the card and then stuffed that pocket full as a Thanksgiving turkey with a bunch of holiday goodies.

There's a tag, a recipe card and a turkey magnet, just for fun!
The tag is topped with more of that gorgeous Old Gold Crosshatch satin ribbon on top.  The artwork is from a digital collage sheet that my friend Heather Hudson shared with me last year.
I found this handsome Thanksgiving turkey in my Thanksgiving ephemera file, and I honestly don't know where it came from!  I placed a magnetic sheet between the image and the cardstock layer so it can be displayed on a fridge, a work cubicle or any metal surface.  I just love pulling goodies out of pockets, don't you?
The final item in the pocket is one of my favorite fall cookie recipes...which ties in with the poem!  See how much fun that was?

The second card uses a great digital image from a 1943 magazine cover.  (I found this one online, too.)
The image was stitched onto burlap and then layered up with loads of beautiful goodies.  These WOC Cosmos Daisies are a beautiful golden hue, and when sponged with just a touch of Vintage Photo Distress Ink they look so vintagey and fabulous!
I layered up more of that spectacular Old Gold Shimmer Satin Ribbon but this time it was paired with sophisticated Old Gold & Silver Diagonal Stripes on White Satin Ribbon.  I used the same ribbon combo on my bow.  I love how the pattern and texture fit right in with the papers and image.

Of course there is a pocket on the inside of this card as well.
This one has a recipe for Pumpkin Soup on the top half of the card.
And as you can see here, the pocket is brimming with Thanksgiving goodness!

I made another magnet, this time stamping a sentiment onto a circular panel.  It's fancied up with a bit of natural burlap string and another Cosmos Daisy.  You could tuck a small gift into the kraft envelope, and who doesn't love vintage buttons on a hand stamped button card?

These would be such great hostess gifts, or wonderful surprise packets to send to friends and family who are far away.  The cards will be pretty on someone's mantel, and the gifts inside just add to the fun.

This is such a great season, a time to give thanks, express gratitude and enjoy time with the people we love!

Thanks for stopping by!
Cheerio,
kathy

Tump Tumpity Tum

Tump tumpity tum....I just like saying it :) .   All Christmas verbiage makes me happy!  Today is my day here at the Really Reasonable Ribbon blog.   This little mini envelope makes me happy...shiny and full of red accents.  I added washi tape and sticker borders to the bottom...added one of my vintage milk caps and the cutest Santa image that I just happened to get off a Santa towel I bought last year at World Market.  It was too adorable to throw away.  I made  a little mini postcard to nestle inside that and I hand stamped images from Purple Onion stamps.  I topped it off with lipstick red seam binding and added Christmas red zig zag on white ribbon for tying to a package or tree.  Other than that, a bit of Christmas twine to tie my mini sentiment tag on and done!  This could have several uses....a gift enclosure for a gift card, money holder, Christmas ornament, or deck out some garland or a wreath.  Hope you enjoy!  hugs, Cherry

Holiday Wishes Pocket Gift Card Holder

Hi there crafty peeps!  I am here today to share with you a gift card/treat holder I made using products from my Fun Stampers Journey collection and ribbons from Really Reasonable Ribbon.
I created a double pocket with Cranberry Bliss Cardstock and my Pocket Card Die.  I assembled it, and cut two pieces of holiday patterned paper to fit inside the front pocket and the front of the card.  I created a notecard for the back pocket with Kiwi Slice Cardstock and stamped a sentiment from the Jolly Friends stamp set onto the top.  I then wrapped some Red Seam binding around the front of the pocket and tied it in a single bow.  I popped up a pierced circle cut from Whip Cream Cardstock.  I then stamped the Star onto Kiwi Slice Cardstock with Kiwi Slice Ink and fussy cut it out.  I adhered down a "nest" of Metallic Silver String on top of the pierced circle and then placed the star on top of that with foam tape.  I stamped the cute little deer image in Versafine ink and colored it with my Tombo markers.  I added Journey Glaze to the nose, antlers, hooves, nose, and scarf.  I fussy cut him out and adhered him to the star.  Finally I added a patterned paper fishtail banner and puffy silver star to a clothespin and pinned a gift card to the inside of the front pocket.  This would also be perfect for a candy cane or another treat in lieu of a gift card.  I hope you enjoy my project.  Have a wonderful day!

I used two of the styles from the November Ribbon Club assortment on my card today.
The bow is made with the Old Gold Shimmer Satin.  I also ran a piece of that same ribbon across the middle of the card under the sentiment and topped it with Silver and Gold Diagonal Stripe Satin Ribbon.  To tone down the white satin, I sponged on some old paper distress ink.  This made it fit in better with the vintage feel of the card.
My perky double-loop bow was created on my Bow-it-All V2.0 Tool.  This is my very favorite tool and will help you create perfect bows every time.
