A Baby Milestones Box and Door Hanger

It's Teresa again here today to share the second half of my baby gift ensemble.  I really love this one that I'm sharing today.  It was super fun to make and I hope that my nephew and his wife will have fun filling it up with fun things after their new baby boy comes into their lives.  The pretty ribbons and trims from Really Reasonable Ribbon are the perfect finishing touch.
For this fun project I started with an unfinished wooden box that I found at my local JoAnn's craft store.  It was the perfect size to put lots of these tiny cards and envelopes in so I got this idea to create a baby's first year milestones kind of mini album.  Moms are super busy and I thought that just having these little cards and envelopes to mark down amazing things that happened through the year would be really fun to do.  And you can put bits of memorabilia and photos in the envelopes and on the tags that I put between everything.  Doesn't that sound like a lot of fun and so easy?.
For the cards, I used tags from the Kaisercraft paper pad that I used when I created this and then got an adorable sticker sheet with fun baby sentiments and decorated each of them up. The little bits of tied ribbon really added that finishing touch that I was looking for on each of them. I also used some of my favorite Spellbinders doily dies and the embossing on them looks so pretty.  I also numbered each of them so that that my nephew and his wife would have lots of places to put the sweet memories for their new baby boy that they are expecting.
I had some papers left over so I decided to make up a baby door hanger for them too that goes with all of it.  I used the same papers and dies that I did for the cards and added some pretty seam binding ribbon and baker's twine bows to make it perfect. I also added a strip of the Burlap Center Stitch Ribbon in brown to tie in all the colors.
That's all for today and I hope that you liked my baby projects.  The frame and card I did are at this link and I would love if you left a comment to let me know what you think.

Have a fun and crafty day!!  Teresa

Sweet as Honey

Hello, Ribbon Lovers!

I was cleaning out my computer over the weekend...dreaded task, right?  But I found some really cool public domain  bee images that I had downloaded somewhere along the line, and realized that if I grouped them together they would make a lovely summer card that I'd like to share with you here today.
The image of the little girl was originally part of a vintage clothing ad for a company called Bee Hive.  You know how much I love vintage images....and this one is really bee-utiful. I also love the new Paulette Crocheted Lace.  It's very fine and silky in texture, and it looks great on top of my background panel.

I cut out the bee hive from the ad, colored it in with a marker, then adhered it to a crystal charm with some Glossy accents.  I die cut the girl using Spellbinders Diamond Essence Dies, and then layered everything up with Graphic 45's refreshed version of Baby to Bride.  The colors are perfect for this summery card.
I found the perfect ribbon pairing in this luxurious Bay Leaf seam binding and summery pastel Light Pink Plaid Ribbon.  Just a touch of natural burlap string on my bee hive charm holds the seam binding in place.  The honey spoon was added with hot glue and the bow was tied with my Zutter Bow-it-All Tool, of course.  I thought about adding flowers, but I really liked the sweet simplicity of the card.  What do you think?
I created a little pocket on the inside of the card, then tucked a tea bag in there...to go with the honey spoon, naturally!  The stamped images are Crafty Secrets Queen Bee.  The card could be used for just about any occasion, but would make a great Get Well Card.

Wishing you a day that's sweet as honey,
kathy

Polka Dot Sweetness

Hello to you RRR peeps! Hope your Summer is starting off good!  Popping in to share this little pincushion I made.    I don't know about you...but polka dots make me swoon.   I had to use this big gorgeous bloom on this sweet sachet/pincushion I sewed .   It was the perfect topper!  I layered it with a vintage lace hankie along with some lipstick seambinding and a bit of cherry twine.  Then topped it off with a vintage rhinestone and a stamped tag.  LOVE the red and dots!   Hope you do too.  Thanks for letting me share!  Hugs, Cherry

Vintage Garden Birthday

For the June RRR Blog Hop, click HERE or scroll down.

Hi there crafty peeps!  I am popping in today to share a card I made for my mom's upcoming birthday using the Vintage Flowers stamp set from Altenew and ribbon from Really Reasonable Ribbon.

I stamped some of the flower images with the new Altenew Crisp Color die inks and filled in some of the color gaps with other inks from my stash.  This set is an "image builder set" so several images are stamped on top of each other with different shades of ink to create the final image.  I fussy cut out the two main flowers from white cardstock and popped them up with foam dots.  I covered all of the blooms with Clear Wink of Stella. The patterned paper is from Lawn Fawn.  The sentiment is from an Old Simon Says Stamp set.  I added some sparkle enamel dots from Doodlebug as an accent.  My sash and bow were made with Sheer with Four Satin Stripes Ribbon White ribbon and the Bow-It-All tool.  I hope you enjoy and have a wonderful day!

Birthday Wishes....

Hi friends.  Today I have a fun birthday card to share that would be perfect for a cute young man.  I'm loving the aqua and jade color combination with a little accent of red featuring some great ribbons and burlap string from Really Reasonable Ribbon.

I used jade Diamond Satin around the center of the card and layered some red Burlap Sting over it.  I also have a little 'tag' of ribbon at the bottom.  When I'm creating a card for a man or a boy and I know I will use less ribbon, I like to use something with a little pattern or texture so it will stand out.  I love the subtle embossed pattern on the diamond satin ribbon.

For the bow I just took two short scraps of ribbon and laid them on the table one above the other.  Then I did a simple running stitch through one and then the other.  I gathered the pieces and added a button to the center.  Then I trimmed the edges on the diagonal.

Thanks so much for stopping by today.  For more information on the other products used on this card, please visit my Make Time to Craft Blog.
