It's Graduation Time!

Hello, Ribbon Lovers!

I'm still in shock that we are already in the month of June!  How did that happen?  This is a busy month for so many of us.  One of the main events is graduation.  Watching our kids march up (or down) the aisle to receive a hard earned diploma has to be one of the high points of being a parent!  I was recently asked to create an altered tray with a graduation theme for a young man who minored in drama.  I found a great way to cover the face of this altered tray...using ribbon, of course!
OK...I have a confession to make.  I have a new ribbon crush.  This incredibly stylish Canvas Color Band Ribbon comes in a rainbow of colors, is a dream to work with and makes wonderful bows.  It also is just the perfect width to use on the face of an altered tray!  How handy is that?  No messy ink or paint necessary!  Just a little Scor-Tape and Black Canvas Color Band Ribbon, and I had the face of this tray looking neat and trim!
The papers used in the tray are Graphic 45 A Proper Gentleman and the matted quotes are from Kraft Reflections, also from G45. I also ran the ribbon through my tags, and stapled it in place with my tiny staple gun.
Congrats to all the grads out there...and mom and/or dad...give yourself a pat on the back for job well done!

Thanks for stopping by!

kathy

PLEASE consider turning off your word verification.
It would be a great help to us if you would consider turning off your word verification if it's active on your blog. To do this is really easy and all you need to do is go to Customize > Settings > Comments > then scroll down to where it says comment moderation and select always (this won't stop anybody leaving you a comment but they won't show on your blog till you approve them). Then scroll down to show word verification for comments? and select No.
We love to visit your blogs and leave comments on all the terrific entries, but the word verification really slows us down. :o)

4th of July Party!!!

Hello and good morn!   I have some candy cones made for RRR.  I took some mini cones, painted them with red chalk board paint, distressed, and than waxed them for aging.  I added some simple little embellishments...cupcake liners to the inside, stars, buttons and pearls, and cherry twinelipstick red seambindingplaid ribbon in red to use for handles and bows.  I also used a bit of vintage navy seambinding.  These will be use to fill with candies or would be sooooo cute hanging from a Patriotic tree or mantle!   Hope you enjoy, Cherry

Watercolored Thank You Card

Hi there crafty peeps!  I am back today to share a fairly simple watercolor thank you card I created using a stamp set from Altenew and some natural twine from the Really Reasonable Ribbon Store.  Just a reminder, there is a three day sale going on right now so head on over to get some great deals on  beautiful ribbon and other great card making products.

The codes are good now through midnight Eastern time on Thursday 6/4/15.
(Sale code is not valid on prior orders, ribbon club subscriptions, ribbon club gift subscriptions, or special order items).
Order subtotals from $15.00 to $39.99 SAVE 10% using code SUMMERFUN10.

Order subtotals $40 and up SAVE 15% using code SUMMERFUN15.

I stamped several of the Magnolia images in Versamark ink onto Tim Holtz Watercolor cardstock and then embossed them with White fine detail embossing powder.  I then water colored them in with my Spectrum Aqua markers and Gansai Tambi watercolors.  The sentiment is from another Altenew stamp set which I stamped in Versafine ink onto white cardstock and then fussy cut it out.  I wrapped Ivory Burlap String around the watercolor panel and placed the sentiment over it with foam tape.  I also created a bow with the same string.  I then adhered the entire panel down to patterned paper mounted to a white A2 top folding card base.  I hope you enjoy this simple but pretty card.  Have a wonderful day!

Really Retro Card with Really Reasonable Ribbon and Bohemian Bazaar

Hey there Paper Peeps. I'm dropping in to share a card I created with the new June Ribbon Club Assortment. When I got a look at the Summer Fun Assortment I was like WOWZA, I love these bright colors!!! Now what will be bold and wild enough to go with them??? Bohemian Bazaar from Graphic 45.
Is this card bright enough for ya??? I really love it...and it cheered me up on a gloomy day for sure!
I usually like to top my bows off with buttons and tags....but I couldn't help myself but to continue layering up this card with fussy cut flowers and dimensional Orange Open Roses and Cosmos from WOC.
My BOLB Kathy Clement sent me a fabulous little gifty of an envelope stuffed full of great diecuts from her stash and this one was really perfect for this card...but needed a little extra flair so I Stickled the heck out of it. It took forever to dry..but the effect was well worth it! I layered some of the ribbons on it. Notice how I used the solid black cardstock as a border so your eyeballs wont bug out of your head when you look at all these patterns?
I added a tag on a fun clip to the top corner then layered on some orange blingy bits and another sweet orange rose: )
Okay that's all for me...wishing you all a happy and productive day with lots of time to be creative : )
