Shabby Chic Perpetual Calendar

Hello Friends!!
Heather here and today I would like to share with you a Perpetual Calendar that I created using Gina's Chipboard and some fabby ribbons and trims from Really Reasonable Ribbon.

I used some digital papers that I designed to cover all of the pieces.  I covered all the insides of the base with paper.  Then glued it together, and then applied paper to the outside. Trim excess paper with an x-acto knife.  I glued Chloe Lace to just the top edges (please refer to photo below).

I used embossing medium and tinsel gold to emboss all the corners and the and edges of the base.

I also embossed the words and base part of the label.  I covered one side of each of the tags with one of my digital papers as you can see below.  Then I trimmed the edges with an x-acto knife.  Then I applied paper to the other side, trimmed them and then inked the edges with Frayed Burlap.  I applied paper to my label top in the same manner, and then the base was embossed.  On the back of the label base I added some Candi Fix it Foam Tabs.

Here is a look at the tags finished below.  I used Juliet LaceMoss green LeavesCotton Candy Baker's Twine,  Deep Ivory Mulberry Roses, and Baby Pink Mulberry Roses,

I added Juliet Lace and Cotton Candy Baker's twine as well as a button with a cotton candy bow to my number pieces.  Martha's yard, Fauna, and Cheeky Pink Glitters were used on the edges of all of my pieces.

Here is a look at it from the side.  I used the Corners which I embossed on both sides of my Calendar base.  The Bow it All tool was used with Pink Salmon Seam Binding to create the double bow on the front.

I have not decided yet on the words that I will be using on the front, so I left it blank for now.
Thank you for visiting Really Reasonable Ribbon today!!
Hugs!!

Moon and Stars by Jenn Cochran

Hi everyone!  Hope you are having a great week so far.  It's Jenn from Jax Bean Stalks.  This week I used one of my favorite patterned ribbons.  I just LOVE chevron and will always by partial to this pattern.  I have used RRR 1/4" Chevron Striped Twill.  It comes in several colors...this particular color is currently out of stock.  I tied my multi-looped bow using the Bow It All V2.0.  If you don't have this tool yet, it is a must get!  I literally use it for every project I make!  The Bow it all has a permanent place of it's own on my desk.

When you are tying a multi-looped bow, be sure that you pull your c-knot in the back tight.  This way all the layers do not come apart.

Thanks for joining me!

Chipboard Calendar to Share

Hi everyone, it's Teresa here to share a calendar with you that I made with some chipboard, paper, an embossing folder and ink and some of my favorite ribbons from Really Reasonable Ribbon.  I made one of these a long time ago and have it sitting on my desk and thought that it would be fun to mix the purples and greens from our theme this month to create another one.

To make one for your self you will need some heavier chipboard to cover, embossing folder, calendar, ribbons and flowers, chain and a charm or two to decorate it.  The inks are from Deco Art's new Media line from Andy Skinner.  I am having a lot of fun with this line and you should check it out.  There is so much that you can do with it.

Directions:

1. To start you will cut the chipboard to 4 1/2 x 7 inches.  Then cut 4 pieces of paper for the inside
and outside the same size.  Run the outside front in the embossing folder and using different inks and glazes to get a fun finish.
2. Then use a good adhesive to adhere it to the chipboard.  Let it dry and then punch 2 holes on both pieces at the top with a crop-a-dile.
3. Cut 2 pieces of the Seam Binding ribbon in purples and thread through the holes that you made to tie them together and then tie a cute bow.  Spritz with water and scrunch them if desired.
4. To make the chain simple use pliers and wire cutters to attach the 2 charms on both ends.  Attach it at the top with a jump ring where the ribbons are tied to hide it.  Add 2 flowers to the center of bow.
5. Find a cute download or buy a set of calendars and print in ivory cardstock.  Ink them with brown and just a bit of purple to match.  I used a cute Bee brad to attach mine but you can also use a tiny nail and punch small holes in the calendars.

Hope you like it and have fun creating your own when you get a crafty moment.  Have a wonderful day....

Teresa

Beautiful Butterflies and Blooms Cards

Hello, Friends!

If you like butterflies and beautiful blooms, you are going to love today's post. I've created a set of beautiful butterflies and blooms cards for Really Reasonable Ribbon using supplies from Polly's Paper, my favorite Etsy Shop!

Butterflies and Blooms RRR 01

Each card combines vintage images, papers and beautiful ribbons from RRR. This anniversary card is all dressed up with a die cut vintage clock, a glittery butterfly and a posh red bow made with Sherry Satin Ribbon with a gold metallic edge. This ribbon is a dream to work with, and ties the most luxurious bows I've ever seen!

Butterflies and Blooms RRR 02

This elegant magnolia has such a great botanical style that I wanted to use earthy, natural fibers to enhance it. I lined the base of the card with Antique Gold Faux Burlap Ribbon and then layered this wonderful new Birds on a Vine Natural Cotton/Linen Ribbon over it. I also used it to make a simple button topped bow. To draw attention to my card focal, I created a little wreath with Hemp Cording. To do this, I just wrapped the hemp around the four fingers of my left hand and then slipped it off. I twisted it just a little, tied a knot with another piece of hemp and hot glued it to the card. I lightly brushed the hemp and the birds on a vine ribbon with a little Vintage Photo Distress ink. Easy, right?

Butterflies and Blooms RRR 04

This thank you card has a great vintage feel, and I enhanced that by adding a vintage button from my stash along with two sweet bows made with shabby pink double faced satin ribbon.

Butterflies and Blooms RRR 06

This happy birthday card is bright and cheery and ready to party with a big poofy bow made from Geranium PInk Circus Dots Grosgrain Ribbon.

Butterflies and Blooms RRR 07

This last card is my favorite.  I love the blue grey color palette and the peaceful feel that this card has. I added a Light Silver Bow to the top of the tag and then used up the very last of my Sheer Satin Striped Ribbon to make that triple bow. I've got to get more of this, as it is such a handy ribbon to have around. It ties like a dream, too. Of course, I tied all these bows with my Bow it All Tool, which really does make it sooo easy to create a pretty bow.

I love the way ribbon adds the perfect finishing touch to any card, and really pulls all the various elements together. How about you? I'd love to hear which of these beautiful butterflies and blooms cards is your favorite in the comment section below.

Thanks for stopping by!

Cheerio,

kathy

Love You, Doll

For our February RRR Blog Hop, please click HERE or scroll down to the next post.

Spring colors are decidedly sweet .  It is like the opening of a new box of crayons, breaking out the blues, greens, yellows, pinks.  Which colors shall I choose?  All of them, depending on the day.  Easter egg colors...vivid pastels.  Today's cards use some of these inspiring colors.  I made these cute little cards for RRR.   I used Crate Paper images, Melissa Frances paper from wayyy back, a bit of stamping using Pink Persimmon and PTI stamps, and seam bindings, also 5/8 pink crochet lace and Karen white crochet lace.   Hope you enjoy and perhaps enjoying early Spring weather, wherever you are!  Cherry
