Jump Start the Holidays

This month our October Ribbon Assortment is Christmas themed and for those of you that start early to get ahead, then this is perfect for you.  I saw somewhere that a very organized crafter did a Christmas card a day early in fall so that she had lots of cards to send out to all her family and friends and each was different and each was a labor of love... and I love that idea since it get so busy closer to Christmas.  So today is my first card that I did and it was made with a Beautiful Burgundy Sheer Ribbon to match the Teresa Collins paper and chipboard pieces that I used.

I wanted it to be quick and easy to do so I cut out the back piece and embossed a die into it to create a frame and then added another Spellbinders die and then the die cuts.  To glitz it up a bit I used BB new glitter paste on the leaves and I think it came out really pretty and that with the beautiful sheer bow adds wonderful texture to an otherwise flat card.  Be sure and check out all the other Holiday Ribbons and get your orders in quick so you can get started on your cards too.

Thanks for stopping by today... Teresa

Haunted House Treat Bag and a Mulberry Flower Storage Idea Video

Hello everyone, and Happy Monday to all!
Today I have a Halloween Treat Bag I made for Really Reasonable Ribbon using the beautiful ribbons from last months Ribbon Club assortment. I also used the beautiful Sweetheart Blossoms, Leaf Trim, and some Lace to complete my bag.

I started with my treat bag, then cut some Spellbinders frames for the background using American Crafts design paper. Next I layered the black and orange ribbon and ran in from the left corner to the bottom right corner, alternating the colors. Then I used foam squares to pop the frames off the bag, and then added my CottageCutz Haunted House and Spooky Sign. Once that was done, I added the Leaf Trim in black and orange, and then used Really Reasonable Ribbons Sweetheart Blossoms in orange and white. I did dust them both, using orange on the orange flowers, and black on the white. Next I went over them with some American Crafts liquid glitter glue. I love the look of them in person. To put the lace and ribbon on the bag I used Scor-tape in 1/4" .

I wanted to share how I store some of my Really Reasonable Ribbon Sweetheart Blossom flowers for easy grabbing. So here is a short video showing how :)   Enjoy!!!

Thank you for stopping by, and I hope you enjoyed today's post!

Hugs to all,
Cheryl

Retro Christmas Card with Pretty Ribbons and Trims

Hello there Paper Peeps! I'm pleased to announce the Christmas card creating season is officially underway at Polly's and I'm dropping in to share one I created this week with loads of pretty and festive trims from Really Reasonable Ribbon, a cool retro image and Graphic 45 papers.

I added a double layer of Wired Edge Burlap in Red and White  an Red Plaid Ribbon for extra detail and topped it off with a nice poofy bow.

That fun vintage image is from my new collage sheet  Woodgrain Retro Christmas and it works perfectly The Twelve Days of Christmas from Graphic 45. I finished off the card with a large dimensional flower and pretty little paper doily : )
Okay that's all for me. It's a chilly day here in Michigan and I'm looking forward to some time in my studio to play paper and maybe watch a little Netflix! Wishing all of you a happy and productive day with lots of time to be creative : ) G

Torn Ribbon Tutorial with Really Reasonable Ribbbon

Hello, Ribbon Lovers! Kathy here to share a sweet and simple Home Sweet Home card and a quick tutorial using torn ribbon.

RRR New Home Card 01
This 6" square top fold card comes together in about 20 minutes, so it's a great one to have in your files for those days when you are time crunched. It's a very straightforward design made with a single sheet of paper from Webster's Pages "Wonder Fall" collection. The thing that makes it special is the torn/frayed ribbon.

RRR New Home Card 02
I fell in love with the 2" Burlap Cotton Blend Ribbon at Really Reasonable Ribbon. It has a wonderful texture. The olive shade was the exact match for this paper, but it was just a teeny tiny bit too wide, covering up the base of the tea cup. No worries! I measured the width of my card (6") and cut my ribbon just about 1/2" longer than that. Then I took my scissors and cut a little slit at 1 1/4" on the short side of the ribbon (which was the perfect depth for my card) and tore right down the length. Because of this ribbon's wonderful natural fibers, it tore nice and straight. I simply fringed the ends by pulling out the little threads with my crafting pick and then sewed it onto the base of my card. I topped it with a strip of Chloe Natural Crochet Lace and then wrapped gold and navy burlap string above the crochet lace. Easy peasy. I absolutely love the homespun feel it lends to my Home Sweet Home card.

What did I do with the other little strip of ribbon you may ask? Well, I just folded it over, tied a bit of string around the center of it, added a vintage pearl button on top and voila! I had the perfect bow to go above the sentiment panel on the card. Double score!

I made my little house with scraps of paper (it's just a square topped with a triangle) punched a heart in the center of the "house" and backed it with another little scrap of the same ribbon. Easy as pie! Here's a peeky at the inside of the card.

Once again, ribbon saves the day! Thanks for stopping by!

Halloween Boot Vintage Ornament with Fabby Ribbons and Trims

Hello Friends!!
Heather here and I hope you are having a fabby day!  Yesterday I had a little time to play after I got home from both of my boy's tennis matches.  I created this Halloween Treat using some fabby ribbons and trims from Really Reasonable Ribbon.

I started out with my Vintage Halloween Boot Digital Collage Sheet which you can find in my Etsy here.

First I cut out all of my pieces and inked the edges with Ranger's Frayed Burlap.

I glued the fronts to the backs, and then inked the edges :0)  I added some Tombow Foam Tabs to the upper portion of my Halloween Boot and the boot pocket piece.

I added glitter to all of my pieces.

I tied a bow with Old Willow Organza on my moon image.  I used a couple of Orange Pom-Poms on Pugsley's ghost costume.  I used 1/4 inch Natural Lace, Orange Leaves, Chocolate Brown Seam Binding, Halloween Baker's Twine, Orange and Deep Ivory Mulberry Roses on the tiny pocket of my Witch boot.

I tucked an owl and orange candy cane into my boot pocket.  I used some more Tombow Foam Tabs under my text boxes.  At the top of my boot I have added an additional flower image with Foam Tabs as well as the "Halloween Greetings" image.

I used some more of the Orange Leaves, some Orange Baker's Twine and another Deep Ivory Mulberry Rose.  One last look at the whole piece.

Here is a tag I created the other day using some of the same RRR Ribbons, trims and flowers.  I also used Black Gingham tied to a tiny paperclip and wrapped around my Halloween Card image. The Orange Seam Binding was used to top off my tag.

Here is a peek at the hidden little tag.

These were made using my Halloween Tickets, Halloween Cards and Halloween tag basics digital collage sheets.  Here are a few close ups of the lovely Really Reasonable Ribbon Leaves, gingham, seam binding and baker's twine.

Don't forget about our Halloween and Ribbon Challenge!!  I can't wait to see what you link up!  Thank you for visiting us at Really Reasonable Ribbon today!

Jingle Bells Christmas Card with Pretty Ribbon Trims

Hi everyone.  It's October already - can you believe it?  Time to get working on those Christmas craft projects so you can be done by Thanksgiving and sit back and relax and enjoy the month of December.  (Yeah, I don't even believe that's going to happen as I'm typing it - but it would be nice, right?)

My card today features some of the pretty ribbon styles in the new October Christmas Celebrations Ribbon Club Assortment from Really Reasonable Ribbon.

This assortment is a MUST HAVE for your Christmas creations!

Not a Ribbon Club member yet?  Join today and begin with this great Christmas assortment which has 9 great styles and a total of 17 yards of ribbon and trim.  What a great way to build your ribbon stash so you always have just the right color or style for your latest project.

My card features some gorgeous ribbons from the October Ribbon Club assortment,  a great Digi Stamp from Create with TLC and a gorgeous paper flower made with Dies from Heartfelt Creations.  I LOVE LOVE LOVE this paper flower.  I used the Sweet Juliet Die set along with one die from the  Arianna Blooms Set and a tiny jingle bell to create this cool flower.  So easy!

The RRR Design Team will be featuring projects from Heartfelt Creations on our October 15th Challenge Post so I do hope you will join us for that.  They have wonderful products.

My double-layer bow was created with my Bow-it-All V2.0 Tool and the Red Swirl Satin from the October Ribbon Club assortment.  I wanted to use the swirl ribbon, but it was too much with it showing on the whole bow with the other pattern paper, so with a slightly different wrapping pattern, the swirls show on the back loops only.  I LOVE this look.  (You will be seeing it again!).  And I finished off the middle of the bow as I sometimes do with a 10mm White Open Rose.

If you missed out on the September Halloween Assortment, for a limited time we will be offering a Special Deal to order the September and October assortments together for $17.00 (for US customers only).  Hurry - offer good through October 10th, 2014.

Thanks so much for stopping by today.
