"Buttons & Bows" Baby Lamb Card

Hello everyone, and Happy Wednesday to you all !
When I saw this sweet little lamb, I thought how DARLING she is, and paired with Really Reasonable Ribbon, and buttons, makes for a sweet Baby card.

The Ribbons I used are Really Reasonable Ribbons Pink Gingham, and Pink Satin. I LOVE the look of them both together. As for my buttons, normally I'm lazy and don't add the hemp, however on this card I just had to take the extra time and add it. I do love how it makes them look sewn on. The buttons are also from Really Reasonable Ribbon, as well as the Hemp I used. The little flowers can be found here at RRR, they are the open roses, 10mm.

So for the Baby Lamb, I used antique Linen to dust her in. Then I used Copics in pink to color her bow, ears, noes, and hooves. Her eyes are done with the Viva Pearl Pen, and I had to add a sweet pink flower to her hair :)
Baby Girl is cut out with the CottageCutz Expressions, using "Baby" & "Girl" dies.

I used the Baby Design paper again, but this time its the girl colors. I also added some RRR Buttons, and hemp to make them look sewn on. Lastly I added some sewing, and a big Pink & Gingham Bow!

Thank you for stopping by and have a super awesome day!

Hugs to all,
Cheryl

ONLY cute spooks allowed...

HEllo there all.....my craft room is in bloom....with orange and black.  But it is only August 3rd you say?   It is what it is.   A bit of a sickness really....holidays are my favorite to create for.  I can't help myself, and I am alright with that.     Today at RRR I am sharing a paper mache house box.  I only had one left and decided to create a spooky cottage.  Only for cute spooks though!   I painted it metallic black and made cute little handmade embellishments for it.  I lost several hours creating this and enjoyed every minute of it.  I used burnt rust seam binding , which I wrapped around the whole box and tied in a big shabby bow to one side.  I used big Cavallini postcards that I diecut to fit to size.  I love those old vintage images.  The roof is decked out with glitter spiderwebs, a big diecut bat, and little stars and moons that I added foam adhesive  too for dimension.    I LOVE how this turned out and hope you enjoy!   Cherry

Custom Dyed Seam Binding with Really Reasonable Ribbon

Custom Dyed Seam Binding Tutorial for RRR

Hello, Friends! I have a simple tutorial to share with you today. While working with the Come Away with Me collection from G45, I had a hard time finding ribbon in my stash that really matched the papers. When this happens, I never panic. I just get out my favorite Cream Seam Binding from Really Reasonable Ribbon and make my own custom dyed seam binding. It's quick, easy and very fun.

 RRR Tute Aug 2 01

I cut a 3 foot length of my cream seam binding, then I spritzed it with Tattered Angels Patina Glimmer Mist. Just a few spritzes is all it takes. Then, I scrunched my ribbon all up, working that beautiful blue all through it. Next, I used my heat gun to dry it....and kept on scrunching that ribbon...just like you do when you are drying your hair with a blow dryer and mousse! LOL When the ribbon was dry. I put one little spritz of Cranberry Tattered Angels mist onto my craft sheet and tapped the ribbon in this randomly. I didn't want a lot of cranberry...just a dot here and there. I dried it again and then added it to my project. Wanna see?

Using the glimmer mist adds a nice shine to the seam binding. This little journal is one I picked up at the thrift store and altered with the Come Away with Me papers. It will make a great Christmas gift for someone! I painted the edges of the journal with Tattered Rose Distress Paint and then tapped it with Tsukineko Walnut Stain. I even tapped the wire binding with Distress Paint. Everything is matted with chocolate brown card stock to keep all those patterns from competing with one another. I ran a tiny bit of my favorite Natural Jute String through the ends of the chipboard tag, too.

I built pockets on the inside to hold photos or other memorabilia.

The title page is also decorated with room for a little note and some more jute string.

Another pocket inside the back cover.

And the back cover, too. I meant to take a before/after photo, but you'll have to take my word for it....this journal got a major facelift! Now I love it, and I hope you do, too!

I love working with seam binding so much that I always keep it at hand. It ties beautiful bows, and now you know how to create custom dyed seam binding, too! Thanks for stopping by! Until next time...

Now, let's see your Back to School creations!
We will be selecting our top three favorite projects to feature, so stop back on August 15th to see our picks along with our next challenge theme.

Here's what you need to do:

PLEASE consider turning off your word verification.
It would be a great help to us if you would consider turning off your word verification if it's active on your blog. To do this is really easy and all you need to do is go to Customize > Settings > Comments > then scroll down to where it says comment moderation and select always (this won't stop anybody leaving you a comment but they won't show on your blog till you approve them). Then scroll down to show word verification for comments? and select No.
We love to visit your blogs and leave comments on all the terrific entries, but the word verification really slows us down. :o)
