Your my cup of Tea Gift Box Set

Welcome everyone to the RRR Blog today.  It's Teresa here and i am sharing a little tea gift card set that i did with some of the Satin with Gross grain ribbon in coral and Burlap string. My base and inspiration for this was a new stamp from Penny Black called April in Paris with lots of roses and an eiffel tower so i thought of tea and a fun card set to give away.

To make this i started with a clear acetate box that i had in my stash and i created a belly band to wrap around it with Spellbinders Belly Bands Two.  Then i cut and embossed a red patterned piece of paper with Spellbinders Curved matting basics for both the back and then another in ivory to stamp on.  I stamped the image in black Tsukineko Versafine ink and embossed it so that it would pop more with clear embossing powder from Stampendous.  The Your my sweet cup of tea stamp is from Taylored Expressions and i stamped that in Tsukineko Versafine ink in Crimson red to match.

To color my image i used Copic markers and tried to shade the roses so that they too would stand out.  The beautiful satin gross grain ribbon bow was the perfect touch for the side to finish it.

And inside of my card i made a cute pocket with another of my favorite SB dies.  It has a really pretty cut out design that makes a perfect pocket to tuck in a few tea packets and maybe a gift card to go to the local tea shop for treats one day.

Thanks so much for stopping by and i hope that you like it and get inspired to make one.  Mother's Day is right around the corner and this might be great to do for the special Moms or Mums in your life. Have a very, very nice day!

The Perfect Friend

Hi everyone and welcome to the RRR Blog today.  It's Teresa here and I am sharing a friend card today that I did with one of my favorite Spellbinder dies, paper and ribbons.

I really had to think about this one because there was so much design in the paper, but I think it worked out pretty good and I am really happy with it.  I used Graphic 45 papers on it for the base and the beige patterned paper I cut out with the Spellbinder die.  Layering it over the print gave it a really interesting pattern and yet the pattern of the die still stands out.  Then I layered on a black Spellbinder Labels One decorative die and the matching smaller piece to stamp my sentiment in.  The stamp is from Penny Black's chalkboard set and to make it stand out even more, I embossed it with clear powder to darken up the black in the words.  Sometimes just that one little trick can really make your card pop.

And...Here is a quick close up of the card so you can see all the pretty patterns and the seam binding ribbon in log brown that I used for the bows.  Hope you like it and thanks for stopping by today :)

Getting Started with Ribbonwork

Hello friends!  Vivian here today with a short video tutorial which will show you how to make the traditionally ribbonworked daisy in my card project below!  For my daisy, I used Mimosa Yellow Seam Binding from the Really Reasonable Ribbon Shop!
Can you tell I'm itching for spring?  If y'all visited with me here for my last post, you know I've been playing with my more colorful distress inks quite a bit - well the fun continues with the vibrant background for this card.
In the video, you will also see how ridiculously easy it is to create this "watercolored" effect without having to pull out your paints.

And if you're curious what supplies were used, they are all listed in the description box under the video.  Hope you'll take a break from your day to check it out!
