Sparkle and JOY

Hey peeps.  It's Dana of Got Joy Creations back with another holiday card.  Yup, still up to my elbows in gorgeous ribbon.  Oh and it feels lovely.  LOL  Check out this gorgeous ribbon on my tag card.

This is the prettiest ribbon I have ever seen.  The sparkle this ribbon gives off will just make you smile and giggle.  Seriously giggle.  It's like a beautiful diamond and you know a girl loves herself a good diamond.  This Metallic String Iridescent in white is a-maz-ing!!  When the light hits it watch out!!  S-T-U-N-N-I-N-G!!

Can you tell I really like this ribbon?  LOL  Well I'm off to make more holiday cards.  Still not done but getting closer.  I hope everyone has a fabulous day.  Head on over to the RRR Shop and scoop yourself up some of this gorgeous ribbon along some holiday ribbon for your cards and projects.

Hugs,

Burning Your Fibers

Hi friends! Over the last few months, I've shared with you a couple of projects in which I scorched my fibers.  Today I thought I'd share a video tutorial which illustrates the types of fibers from Really Reasonable Ribbon that I've been altering and the interesting results.
Here's the video:
In the video, I share a few project samples in which the fibers have been burned.  Interestingly, rather than imparting a harsh feeling, this action often softens the look of be-ribboned projects. After the samples, I share a grungy card project from start to finish that gets a nice punch of extra texture and freshness with an assortment of burned fibers.

Here's a detail of the funky burned fibers.

And a detail of the die-cuts that I grunged up.
Hope you'll take a break from your day to watch!  If you are interested, a detailed supply list is available in the description box under the video.  As for my fibers, I used White Seam Binding, Metallic String Gold, and Metallic String Iridescent White, all available from the RRR shop!

An Art Journaling Page

Hello friends!

Vivian here to share an art journal page with you that uses Peachy Keen Stamps and Really Reasonable Ribbon.

I've been collaging a lot as of late and very much enjoying designing in the grungy sphere.  One of the papers with words on it resonated for me.  So I chose one of my favorite fibers from the RRR shop, Metallic String, Iridescent White (I'm also nuts about the gold!), to draw the eye there.

The way this string sparkles perfectly highlights how precious today truly is.  On top of all my collaged pieces, I stamped with Peachy Keen PK-276 Flower Centers and PK-117 Picnic Tablecloth to create my composition...

And add texture...

I didn't feel like being brash with my journaling, so it's something you actually need to look for :-)

I love how easily collage can create so much texture and depth in mixed media projects.

Texture and Shimmer

Hello friends!  Vivian here today with a few cards to share. With these projects, I finally cracked open a 6 x 6 in. pad of beautiful papers from My Mind's Eye that I had been hoarding. As this collection has a nice, muted palette, I took the opportunity to play up my projects with some gorgeous texture using Champagne Netting and some beautiful Metallic Iridescent White String.
I find myself reaching for that string in a lot of my projects these days - such a delicate, unique, perfect finishing touch.
To create the pearl borders, I got to play with some new Pearl Pens from Viva Decor that I'm currently very excited about!

For my second card, I paired the blue with some of the yellows and ochres in this collection for a bolder color combination.
I used my "Frame Back, Ornate" die from Sizzix, splitting the die cut shapes in half to create a pretty ombre effect.
The Metallic String Gold from the Really Reasonable Ribbon shop caught the yellows in my project and added just the right amount of shimmery punch.
Thanks for visiting with me here today!  Hope I inspired you to get crafty with some of these gorgeous fibers!
