Puttin' on the Glitz Ribbon Christmas Folio

Hello, Ribbon Lovers!  The holidays are all about puttin' on the glitz!  Even in our crafting!  Thankfully, Really Reasonable Ribbon has a wonderful selection of metallic ribbons that add just the right amount of sparkle to our holiday crafting!

This Red Glitz Ribbon has been paired up with Iridescent Metallic String for maximum shine. The really lovely thing about this ribbon is that it is surprisingly easy to tie.  It's not too thick, and not too stiff, so it makes gorgeous bows.  I've also used it to create a border on the cover of this Christmas folio.  1.5" Royal Blue Gingham Ribbon picks up on the wonderful blues in this vibrant collection.

If you'd like to take a peek inside this festive folio, then please enjoy this short video tour with tips and tricks.

Glitz ribbon comes in 10 glamorous shades, too. So if you want to add a little sparkle to your Christmas crafting, it's hard to beat!

Autumn Woodlands Folio and a new Ribbon Crush

Hello, Friends!  Oh, how I love fall!  This Autumn Woodlands Folio reminds me of walking on crunchy leaves under a warm blue sky as squirrels and little woodland creatures scurry all around me.

See that beautiful ribbon closure?  It's my latest ribbon crush from Really Reasonable Ribbon.  This 3/4" Variegated Sheer Ribbon comes in a multitude of shades...and I might just have added them all to my shopping cart in my last trip to RRR.  This particular shade, Moss Green/Taupe is simply stunning with fall colors.  But I think it would look amazing with vintage Christmas papers as well!

Ribbon closures are my favorite way to hold a gatefold folio like this one together.  This ribbon is extra easy to work with, and has a gorgeous soft shimmer that really adds a touch of elegance to the cover design.  Would you like a peek at what's behind the gates on this sweet little 5" x 6 1/2" folio?

Well, first, Mr. Fox is here to welcome you inside!

One of the things I love about a gatefold design is all the little nooks and crannies that appear as you open the door.

I created a box style pocket in the center panel of the card.  I just love all the yummy woodland elements in this paper collection from Ciao Bella, don't you?

Sweet treats inside the box style pocket turn this into a lovely little gift.

And where there is honey, one simply must have tea!  And a vintage silver plate teaspoon to go along with it!

The little hedgehog panel on the left has a magnetic closure, and a secret hidden page where you can tuck in a note, a gift card or photo.

And here is a look at the back side of the folio.  I've attached the ribbon under the patterned paper, then wrapped it around the spines and under one of the gates.  This way, you can tie the album securely, but open it easily.

I hope I've introduced you to a lovely new style of ribbon. If you are new to tying bows, you are sure to love it, as it is soft and easy to tie.

Enjoy Your Retirement Masculine Card

Hello, Ribbon Lovers!  I love to make masculine cards just as much as I enjoy making frilly feminine ones.  And the March Ribbon Club Assortment is filled with great ribbons for masculine cards!

Charcoal Checkerboard Satin Ribbon is the perfect complement for this gatefold style card.

Attach the ribbon to the back of the card with 1/2" Scor-Tape.

To add a pop of color to the inside panel of the card, I added 3/8" Red Mini Swiss Dots Satin to a strip of 1/4" Scor-Tape.  I love the way this brightens up the inside of the card.

This card measures 4 1/4" x 6 1/4" and is made with one sheet of 8 1/2" x 11 cardstock.  I simply trimmed the height to 6 1/4" then scored at 4 1/4" and again at 8 1/2 to make the card base.

I think I'm going to have lots of fun making cards with this month's ribbon club.  How about you?

"You Shine" Lighthouse Birthday Card

Hello, Ribbon Lovers!  It's Kathy here with a great summer birthday card idea for the lighthouse lover near you.
I can almost feel the salt spray on my face and hear the crashing waves on the shore.  I used Webster's Pages Yacht Club papers to make this card.  It's an oldie but a goodie from my stash.  I fussy cut the lighthouse, flowers and ship's wheel from the paper collection, inked all the edges and then layered them with foam dots to create lots of dimension.
There was so much grey in the color palette that I wanted to punch things up with my ribbon choice.  I turned to the May Ribbon Club Assortment and found that the Poppy Red Double Faced Satin was just the right ribbon for the job!  The silky texture and bold color really pumped up the volume of this nautical card. I topped it with a hemp string bow and a sparkly blue button.  These elements really brought the card to life.
There's a little gift card pocket on the front of the card, and I cut down part of the designer paper to make this cute tag to tuck inside.  And a gift card would fit in there, too.  The tag is topped with twisted hemp cord for even more of a nautical feel.
Here's a look at the decorated interior of the card.
I stamped the birthday sentiment onto grey cardstock.
And because I love pockets, I had to make another one.  This one holds a little notecard that I created using designer paper from the collection.  I left this blank so that the sender can add their own personal note here.

This month's ribbon collection is so versatile.  I've used it on a farm themed card, a true blue patriotic portfolio, and now on this nautical birthday card.  If you haven't signed up for the monthly ribbon club yet, I highly recommend it.  It's always a treat to work with high quality ribbon!  You can find all the details HERE.

Thanks for stopping by, and I hope you all enjoy a safe and happy Memorial Day!
