Puttin' on the Glitz Ribbon Christmas Folio

Hello, Ribbon Lovers!  The holidays are all about puttin' on the glitz!  Even in our crafting!  Thankfully, Really Reasonable Ribbon has a wonderful selection of metallic ribbons that add just the right amount of sparkle to our holiday crafting!

This Red Glitz Ribbon has been paired up with Iridescent Metallic String for maximum shine. The really lovely thing about this ribbon is that it is surprisingly easy to tie.  It's not too thick, and not too stiff, so it makes gorgeous bows.  I've also used it to create a border on the cover of this Christmas folio.  1.5" Royal Blue Gingham Ribbon picks up on the wonderful blues in this vibrant collection.

If you'd like to take a peek inside this festive folio, then please enjoy this short video tour with tips and tricks.

Glitz ribbon comes in 10 glamorous shades, too. So if you want to add a little sparkle to your Christmas crafting, it's hard to beat!

Autumn Woodlands Folio and a new Ribbon Crush

Hello, Friends!  Oh, how I love fall!  This Autumn Woodlands Folio reminds me of walking on crunchy leaves under a warm blue sky as squirrels and little woodland creatures scurry all around me.

See that beautiful ribbon closure?  It's my latest ribbon crush from Really Reasonable Ribbon.  This 3/4" Variegated Sheer Ribbon comes in a multitude of shades...and I might just have added them all to my shopping cart in my last trip to RRR.  This particular shade, Moss Green/Taupe is simply stunning with fall colors.  But I think it would look amazing with vintage Christmas papers as well!

Ribbon closures are my favorite way to hold a gatefold folio like this one together.  This ribbon is extra easy to work with, and has a gorgeous soft shimmer that really adds a touch of elegance to the cover design.  Would you like a peek at what's behind the gates on this sweet little 5" x 6 1/2" folio?

Well, first, Mr. Fox is here to welcome you inside!

One of the things I love about a gatefold design is all the little nooks and crannies that appear as you open the door.

I created a box style pocket in the center panel of the card.  I just love all the yummy woodland elements in this paper collection from Ciao Bella, don't you?

Sweet treats inside the box style pocket turn this into a lovely little gift.

And where there is honey, one simply must have tea!  And a vintage silver plate teaspoon to go along with it!

The little hedgehog panel on the left has a magnetic closure, and a secret hidden page where you can tuck in a note, a gift card or photo.

And here is a look at the back side of the folio.  I've attached the ribbon under the patterned paper, then wrapped it around the spines and under one of the gates.  This way, you can tie the album securely, but open it easily.

I hope I've introduced you to a lovely new style of ribbon. If you are new to tying bows, you are sure to love it, as it is soft and easy to tie.

Umbrella Drinks Tropical Tri Fold Folio

Hello, Ribbon Lovers!  Why don't you come sit by the pool for a bit and sip on a refreshing beverage while I tell you all about this fun little folio?

This 5 1/2" square folio feels like a summer pool party .  I've surrounded the center shaker box with pretty white flowers, chipboard elements, loopy Ivory Burlap String bow,  and a vibrant Apple Green Sheer Ribbon with Satin Center Bow.  The ribbon is part of the Sizzlin' Summer Ribbon Mix from the July Ribbon Club.  People, these are the colors of summer!

The Acid Green Random Dot Grosgrain Ribbon from the Ribbon Club adds a punch of summer color to the little tags that I've scattered throughout the folio.  I've also used it to make borders on my pockets.

When fully opened, this little folio looks and feels like a party is going on!  From left to right we have a waterfall page, a pocket with photo mount inserts, a dimensional treat/tag pocket and a magnetic flip page.

After topping each little tag with ribbon, I've adhered the bottom edge to the page so that a photo can be tucked in behind.

The pocket page is decorated with a cute little fussy cut banner.  I've tucked 4" x 4" photo mounts into the pocket.

The flap page is decorated with  tropical chippies and has a magnetic closure.

Look how cute the Acid Green Random Dots ribbon looks as a border on the pocket page inside the flap!  I just love adding ribbon to the inside of a project like this.

The center treat pocket hosts a trio of tags: two large pocket tags and one petite tag.  Adding a bit of ribbon to the top of the tags really makes them look finished.

I hope your summer has been filled with fun and a little poolside relaxation!

Thanks for stopping by!

Summertime Folio

Hello, Ribbon Lovers!  Even though it seems like winter would never give up this year, my calendar tells me that summer is fast approaching.  Soon we'll all be swimming at the pool, going on vacation or picnicking in the park.  Summertime is just filled with fun events that make for great memories!  It's always nice to have a spot to preserve and showcase all the great photos we take during the summer season, isn't it?  This Summertime Folio filled with flips, flaps, tags, pockets and tuck spots is quick to  make, and fun to flip through.

I love it when I can find the absolute perfect ribbon match for a project.  This 5/8" Black Plaid Ribbon lends a country chic vibe to this 6.75" x 7.25" folio.  Tying this triple loop bow was quick and easy, thanks to my Zutter Bow-it-All Tool.

I've tucked in a loopy Black Burlap String Bow to add extra texture to the bow cluster.  It also really helps my red flowers pop!

Inside the folio, I've created a fun pull out photo album, tied with more of the same black plaid ribbon. The box style pocket holds sweet little tags and mini folio.

Black Plaid Ribbon tops the tags.  But I also added a decorative bow tied with Red Cherry Print. Sheer Organza Ribbon.  I love using organza ribbon on summer projects as it is light and airy!

I prepared a short 6 minute video tour of the folio so you can see how all the mechanisms work.  I hope you enjoy!

I hope I've shared some ideas that will help you make the most of your beautiful Really Reasonable Ribbon! If so, I 'd love to hear from you in the comment section below.

Vintage Purple Roses Tri-Fold Folio with Tips and Tricks

Hello, Ribbon Lovers!  I've had so much fun playing with the Purple and Green Mix Ribbon Club Assortment this month!  The colors, patterns and textures have really brightened up my winter landscape.  I was thrilled to discover that the purple ribbons are a great playmate for my Heartfelt Creations Butterfly Medley papers.  So I worked them up into this shabby chic Vintage Purple Roses Tri-Fold Folio.

The folio measures 5" x 7" with half inch spines.  I used gorgeous  5/8" Hyacinth Satin Ribbon with a Grosgrain Edge to create a ribbon closure for the album.   My bow cluster is made with the 5/8" Hyacinth Satin Swirl Ribbon topped off with some Gold Metallic String and a button from my stash.  And of course I used my Bow it All  to tie those beautiful bows!

The purple roses and the butterfly are both stamped onto patterned paper and cut with the matching dies.  Did you know that Ultra Violet is one of Pantone's Colors for 2018?  So this Ribbon Club Mix is right on trend!

The folio base is three strips of 11" x 7" heavy lavender cardstock joined together with 1/2" Scor-Tape.  After joining the cardstock strips together, I scored at 5" and again at 5.5", repeating this pattern all the way down the long side.

The folio is filled with flaps, folds, flips, pockets and tags.

Although the folio is not very big, it has room for loads of photos, thanks to this little waterfall feature.

I thought you might enjoy seeing how all the mechanisms work, so I created this YouTube video tour with lots of tips and tricks that you can use to make your own version of this fun little folio.  I hope you enjoy!

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Steampunk Style Summer Beach Folio with Ocean Breeze Ribbon Club Assortment

Hello, Ribbon Lovers!  How happy are we that summer is finally here?  It's time to put on our suntan lotion, don a floppy hat and head to the beach for some summertime fun.

This is birthday season in our household with about 11 birthdays in 3 months' time.  I try to work ahead and get special projects and cards made so that I don't come up short when birthdays roll around.  The Ocean Breeze Ribbon Club Assortment inspired me to pull out my Graphic 45 Voyage Beneath the Sea papers and work up this fun Steampunk Style Summer Beach Folio.

Tropic Double Faced Satin Ribbon is such a perfect companion for these whimsical papers.  And these colors just scream summertime!

Here's how I created this pretty bow cluster:

I also added ribbon and metallic string to that sweet little chipboard charm, making it stand out in the card design.

Did you know that Really Reasonable Ribbon carries Steampunk Gears and Cogs?  I painted these with Cracked Pistachio Distress Paint, which is very close in color to the Tropic ribbons.  It adds a fun steampunk vibe to the card design.  I especially love the heart shaped gear that I used in the center of the "O" in YOU.

I turned this 5" x 7" top fold card into a folio by adding a 1/4" spine to the design.

The top section of the folio contains this fun accordion style album. I've used more of the Fancy Shell Print on Tropic Satin Ribbon as a closure mechanism for the gatefold cover. The album is  double sided so it will hold a lot of 3" x 5" photos.

The pocket on the bottom holds a pretty art tag and an ephemera card from the collection.  I layered my Tropic ribbons on the top of the tag to add extra pattern, color and shine to the tag design. I also tied a short piece of Tropic Double Faced Satin to the top of the tag, then added another chipboard charm with Gold Metallic String.

If you've fallen in love with the ribbons in this Ocean Breeze Ribbon Assortment like I have, then you'll want to sign up for the RRR Monthly Ribbon Club HERE.  It's like having a birthday present arrive in the mail every single month of the year.
